🚑❤️ Celebrating Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) Week! | October 4–10, 2026

MIH teams do so much more than respond to emergencies! From helping patients manage chronic conditions to connecting residents with healthcare and community resources, these dedicated professionals make a difference every day.
BRTA extends a special thank you to our EMS partners and MIH teams for bringing care closer to home and helping keep our rural communities healthy!

🚑💙 Celebrating MIH Week | October 4–10, 2026 💙🚑

This week, Westmoreland County Department of Emergency Services proudly recognizes our Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) program and the dedicated providers who make a difference in our community every day!

What is MIH? Mobile Integrated Healthcare brings healthcare into the community, providing support beyond a traditional emergency response. MIH services can include health assessments, chronic disease and medication management, preventive care, and follow-up visits after a hospital stay. This approach improves access to care and helps prevent avoidable emergency department visits and hospital readmissions.

Here in Westmoreland, our MIH providers build relationships, offer health education, and connect residents with healthcare and community resources. Their compassion and commitment help residents feel supported as they navigate their healthcare needs.

To our outstanding MIH providers: thank you for taking the time to listen, for treating every resident with dignity, and for the care you bring to our community. Your work matters, and we appreciate you! 👏💙

Please join us in thanking our MIH team!

What should Telehealth ROCKS offer next? We want to hear from you!

Our new Training Priorities Survey asks about the topics that matter most to your work, the types of learning opportunities you would be most likely to participate in, and what makes training useful and accessible to you.

The survey should take about 5–7 minutes to complete. Your feedback will directly inform how we plan future Telehealth ROCKS trainings, resources, and learning opportunities for professionals and partners who work with children and families.

You do not need to have previously participated in a Telehealth ROCKS training to respond.

It’s Telehealth Tuesday, and during Mental Illness Awareness Week, we’re highlighting an important role for telehealth: improving access to mental health care.

For rural communities, a mental health provider may be miles away. Telehealth can help bring counseling, behavioral health services, follow-up care, and other support directly to individuals where they live.

Distance shouldn’t determine access to mental health care.

BRTA and its members continue working to strengthen connections between technology, providers, and the communities we serve.

Patients and Providers can get the latest information about how and when to use telehealth, policy and billing updates, best practices for telemedicine integration, and more.

As the workweek begins, take a moment to pause and check in… not only with your coworkers, but with yourself.

This week, BRTA recognizes Mental Illness Awareness Week, October 4–10.

A healthy workplace is one where people feel respected, supported, and comfortable speaking up when they need help. Mental Illness Awareness Week is an opportunity to learn, raise awareness, reduce stigma, and remind those who may be struggling that they are not alone and that support is available.

Consider checking in with a coworker, offering support, or taking time to care for your own mental health this week.
