2nd Responders Hurricane Response Team

2nd Responders is a volunteer-led hurricane response and relief team serving West-Central Florida.

We operate in the critical window after First Responders have done their lifesaving work and before FEMA and other large-scale agencies arrive.

We are a volunteer-led hurricane response team serving West-Central Florida.
Our work begins after First Responders leave and before FEMA arrives — the critical window when families are most vulnerable.
We focus on low-income micro-communities where families cannot afford to evacuate or relocate.
What we do:
• Deploy for 1–3 days
• Deliver pre-staged supply containers with generators, chainsaws, tarps, food, water, baby essentials, and more
• Equip local champions inside each community so support continues after we leave

Our model is simple: empower the community so relief continues from within.

Huge shoutout to STORsquare for their incredible generosity and partnership!
They donated a 20ft shipping container to 2nd Responders, delivered it directly to us, and are helping us prepare for hurricane season in the most impactful way. We’re currently filling it with essential supplies for hurricane response, and when a storm hits Central Florida, STORsquare will deliver the container straight to the affected area so we can immediately get to work helping families.
After each deployment, they’ll pick it up, bring it back, and we’ll refill it again, ready to respond whenever we’re needed.
We truly could not do what we do without their support. STORsquare is an invaluable partner, enabling us to reach more families and respond faster and more effectively when disaster strikes.
