Day 7 – The Blessing vs. the Blesser

Scripture: Genesis 22:9–12

“Now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.” (v. 12)

Sacrificial offering reveals whether we love the blessing more than the blesser. Isaac was Abraham’s miracle, his future, his promise—yet Abraham showed that he loved God more than the gift.

Reflection:

What “Isaacs” are in your life—gifts from God that are precious to you? (Family, ministry, job, reputation, finances, health, opportunities.)

When God asks you to surrender something valuable (time, money, a dream, a relationship), what rises in your heart first—trust or fear? Grateful surrender or quiet resentment?

‼️Ask yourself:

Could I still worship God joyfully if He asked me to lay this down for a season?

Do I see this thing as “mine” or as “His, on loan to me”?

🙏Prayer: Father, thank You for every blessing in my life. Search my heart and reveal where I’ve held more tightly to Your gifts than to You. Teach me to love the Giver above every gift. Amen.

📌Practice: Write down one blessing you deeply value. Under it, write: “Lord, this belongs to You.”

Pray that sentence over it several times today.

Delayed, Explained, or Partial?

Obedience to God Should Be Silent, Sudden, and Sole.
Silent: Do you need others to agree with you before you obey God? Do you feel you must explain your obedience before you act?

Sudden: Do you procrastinate when God nudges you to do something costly or uncomfortable?

Sole: Do you obey partially—holding back certain areas of your life, relationships, or resources?

Reflection: Which one challenges you most right now?
