When you finally let Jesus take the wheel, but the ride feels like Ace Ventura crashing through the wilderness…
“Lord, I surrendered, but I didn’t realize sanctification came with this much turbulence.”
Sometimes following Jesus doesn’t feel smooth at first. It feels like He’s taking you off the road you were used to, through the brush, over the bumps, and straight into places where your pride, control, fear, and comfort can’t survive.
But here’s the truth: Jesus may not always take the route you expected, but He always knows where He’s going.
So hold on, trust the Driver, and stop grabbing the wheel every time it gets uncomfortable.

The Pharisees watching Jesus heal somebody on the Sabbath like…
“Excuse me, Lord, but according to subsection 4, paragraph 7 of our religious overcomplication manual, You’re not allowed to do that today.”
Meanwhile Jesus is over here restoring bodies, freeing people, exposing hypocrisy, and reminding everyone that mercy matters more than man-made control.
It’s wild how religious pride can get more offended by healing than by suffering.
Jesus didn’t break the heart of the Sabbath. He revealed it.
Sometimes we need the reminder too. Don’t get so obsessed with looking religious that you miss what God is actually doing right in front of you.

Me checking in with Jesus before I crash out like…
“Lord, I’m trying to be sanctified, but they are testing the old me.”
We’ve all had that moment where the flesh is ready to respond, the attitude is loading, and the Holy Spirit taps us on the shoulder like, “Are we really about to do this?”
That pause matters.
Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is stop, breathe, pray, and let Jesus handle what your mouth was about to make worse.
Growth doesn’t mean you’re never tempted to crash out. Growth means you check in with Jesus before you do.

Private sin is never as private as you think.
You may hide it from your wife.
Hide it from your kids.
Hide it from your church.
Hide it behind passwords, deleted history, fake smiles, and “I’m good, brother.”
But sin always leaks.
Numbers 32:23 says, “Be sure your sin will find you out.”
That doesn’t mean God is waiting to humiliate you.
It means hidden sin has consequences.
It changes your tone.
Your patience.
Your intimacy.
Your confidence.
Your leadership.
The man you are in secret eventually shows up in public.
David thought his sin with Bathsheba could be managed, covered, and controlled. But what started in private brought devastation into his house.
Some men aren’t trapped because they’re weak.
They’re trapped because they keep protecting what’s poisoning them.
Challenge today: Drag it into the light.
Confess to God. Then confess to a trusted brother who will fight with you.
Freedom doesn’t start with being exposed.
It starts with being honest.

Dinx The Puppet is hitting on one of the most sobering warnings Jesus ever gave.
In Matthew 7, Jesus said there will be people who stand before Him saying, “Lord, Lord,” pointing to religious activity, spiritual words, and even impressive works. But His response is terrifying: “I never knew you.”
That should shake us.
Because Jesus wasn’t warning atheists in that passage. He was warning religious people who had the language, the appearance, and the activity, but not true surrender.
The question isn’t just, “Do I know about Jesus?”
The question is, “Does Jesus know me?”
Faith isn’t proven by loud words alone. It’s revealed through surrender, obedience, repentance, and a life truly submitted to Christ.

A passive man is still a dangerous man.
Not because he’s aggressive.
Because he’s absent.
Passive men don’t always destroy their families by what they do. Sometimes they destroy them by what they refuse to do.

Genesis 3:6 says Eve gave the fruit to her husband “with her,” and he ate.
Adam wasn’t across the field.
He was there.
Silent. Passive. Watching.
And men are still doing it.
Watching their homes spiritually drift.
Watching their kids get discipled by culture.
Watching their marriages grow cold.
Watching sin gain ground.
And calling it peace.
But leadership delayed is often leadership denied.
Joshua 24:15 says, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Not, “We’ll see what happens.”
Challenge today: Where have you been passive and called it patience?
Step in today.
Lead the prayer. Start the conversation. Own the responsibility.
Your silence is speaking.

When you’re trying not to cuss people out, so you go biblical instead…
“Your tongue practices deceit.”
“You brood of vipers.”
“Get behind me, Satan.”
“May the Lord rebuke you.”
“Depart from me, worker of lawlessness.”
Sometimes Scripture has a way of saying, “You’re out of pocket,” with holy vocabulary.
But let’s be real. The goal isn’t to baptize our insults. It’s to let God tame our tongue, check our heart, and teach us how to speak truth without becoming reckless with our words.
Still… “your tongue practices deceit” is absolutely going in the Christian clapback file.

Your excuses are building the prison you keep praying to escape.
“I’m just wired this way.”
“I’ve been through a lot.”
“It’s not that bad.”
“I’ll deal with it later.”
“I’m too busy.”
“I’m not like those other guys.”
Every excuse feels like protection in the moment.
But over time, it becomes a chain.
In John 5, Jesus asked a man who had been disabled for thirty-eight years, “Wilt thou be made whole?”
The man didn’t answer directly. He explained why he couldn’t get to the water.
Jesus didn’t debate the excuse.
He said, “Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.”
Some men have gotten so used to explaining their bo***ge that obedience feels impossible.
Challenge today: Stop rehearsing why you’re stuck.
Take responsibility for one step.
Call the brother. Confess the sin. Open the Bible. Apologize. Get help.
Your excuse may explain your wound, but it cannot become your master.

Using God’s name in vain.
A lot of people think that only means using His name as a curse word. And yes, throwing God’s name around casually, angrily, or disrespectfully matters.
But it goes deeper than that.
Taking God’s name in vain also means claiming His name while living in a way that misrepresents Him. It’s saying “I follow Jesus” while using His name for pride, manipulation, hypocrisy, or personal gain.
God’s name is holy because God is holy.
So the question isn’t just, “Did I say the wrong phrase?”
The better question is, “Am I carrying His name well?”
