Join Veterans Counseling Veterans (VCV) on our journey to the Military Influencer Conference—MIC 2026 in Tampa, September 23–26.
In this special podcast episode, VCV President and CEO Ellsworth “Tony” Williams Jr. is joined by members of the VCV team, including Director of Operations Thelma Williams, Administrative Assistant Angela Ruona, and AI and Technology Consultant Lola Saballegue. Together, they discuss VCV programs, why VCV is attending MIC, how the team is preparing for the conference, and what visitors can expect at Booth 400.

Join us for the VCV CEO Update as we share the latest news from Veterans Counseling Veterans (VCV) and our ongoing work to support veterans, service members, and military families.

We’ll discuss VCV’s participation in the Military Influencer Conference 2026, taking place September 23–26, and the opportunities it creates for collaboration, advocacy, and stronger connections across the military community.

We’ll also celebrate a very special family milestone—my dad’s 90th birthday—and reflect on the legacy, wisdom, service, and inspiration of our elders.

Next, we’ll preview the upcoming Summer Elite Veterans Summit in Orlando and highlight additional events, partnerships, and community initiatives in which VCV will be involved.

Ellsworth “Tony” Williams, had the privilege of attending the Annual Brain Impact Summit—an important gathering of leading experts focused on the detection, prevention, and treatment of Parkinson’s disease.

During the summit, powerful discussions highlighted a growing concern: the connection between military service and Parkinson’s disease. At a dedicated discussion table with Dr Lourdes Benes and Dr Ramon Rodriguez, we explored the potential links between Agent Orange, burn pits, environmental toxins near military installations, and the increased risk among veterans.

Ellsworth raised a critical question on behalf of the veteran community—one that sparked meaningful dialogue around how Parkinson’s uniquely impacts those who have served. The consensus was clear: more can be done, and we must move faster.

Our purpose in attending was to listen, learn, build relationships, and identify resources that can better support veterans and their families. What we gained was not only knowledge but a renewed urgency to advocate for earlier detection, stronger research, and improved care pathways.

We are proud to announce the upcoming launch of our new podcast:

“Supporting Our Forgotten Veteran Tribes: Elderly Veterans, Reservists, and the Military and Veteran Family.”

This initiative is made possible through the continued support and collaboration of organizations and leaders committed to improving the lives of our veterans and their families.

Why this matters:
Reservists continue to face long-term challenges after service, raising critical questions about sustained support for them and their families.

Elderly veterans, with an average age of 65.8, are often underserved despite increasing mental health needs.

Military and veteran families carry the weight of caregiving, trauma, and loss—yet frequently lack access to adequate mental health support.

As a Florida-based, veteran-led nonprofit, Veterans Counseling Veterans Serving Our Elderly Program aligns with the mission of the Alzheimer Advisory Council.

Veterans Counseling Veterans Serving Our Elderly Veterans program provide support for veterans impacted by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia — it’s encouraging to see strong representation from our state at the national level.

Florida is home to one of the largest veteran populations in the country.

In communities like Pinellas County, Hillsborough County, Pascoe, Polk and Orange Counties and across the state, we see firsthand how critical federal leadership and informed policy decisions are — especially as our veteran population ages and faces increasing cognitive health challenges.
Having leaders who understand the unique needs of our veteran communities creates meaningful opportunities for collaboration, insight, and impact. We look forward to continued partnership and dialogue that strengthens support systems for those who have served.

Taking care of veterans and their families is my God-given assignment. At Veterans Counseling Veterans, our work would not be possible without the dedicated volunteers who serve behind the scenes.
I want to recognize the Veterans Counseling Veterans team who supported the 31st MP Battalion H2F event: BG (R) Johnnie Johnson, former Tampa PD Deputy Chief Calvin Johnson, BG (R) Carrie Nero (former 3rd MEDCOM Commander), and retired Pinellas County Sheriff CPT Carol Rasor.
Our mission is to prevent veteran su***de, carried out through three core programs: Military Sexual Trauma, Serving Our Elderly Veterans, and Military & Veteran Family Mental Wellness. Together, we stand in service to those who served.

Veterans Counseling Veterans continues to honor military and veterans' families.

November has been designated as military and veterans' family recognition month.

Veterans counseling veterans has donated over a thousand dollars of gift certificates to the families of military and veterans for the month of november.

Veterans Counseling Veterans partnered with 317th MP Battalion to identify provide gift certificates to deserving families in their unit.

SGM Webley and his team identified SGT Sanchez and SGT Conception.
Both received $150 gift certificates to ensure they had a blessed Thanksgiving.

Reserve units are often overlooked when it comes to recognition or support.
I promised 317th MP Battalion they will not be forgotten or overlooked by VCV.

Veterans Counseling Veterans primary mission is to prevent veteran su***des by addressing the stressors that increase suicidal ideations.

Financial distress is a major risk factor that increases suicidal ideations.

After Thanksgiving festivities are over, the financial distress is still there.
