Durante años, Sara escondió su bolsa de ostomía.

No porque estuviera avergonzada de quién era.
Sino porque el mundo le había enseñado que las cicatrices, las enfermedades y los dispositivos médicos debían permanecer ocultos.

Vivió con Enfermedad de Crohn.
Pasó por cirugías.
Enfrentó dolor, incertidumbre y momentos que muchos jamás llegarán a comprender.

Pero un día decidió dejar de esconderse.

Decidió mostrarse tal y como es.

Hoy desfila frente a cientos de personas con un mensaje poderoso:

“No tengo nada que ocultar.”

Y la verdad es que ninguno de nosotros debería sentir que tiene que esconderse.

Ni las cicatrices.
Ni las bolsas de ostomía.
Ni las fístulas.
Ni los medicamentos.
Ni las batallas que libramos en silencio cada día.

La Enfermedad de Crohn y la Colitis Ulcerosa pueden cambiar nuestros cuerpos, pero nunca podrán definir nuestro valor.

Porque la verdadera belleza no está en un cuerpo perfecto.
Está en la valentía de seguir adelante cuando duele.
En levantarte después de una noche difícil.
En sonreír cuando nadie sabe la batalla que llevas por dentro.

A todos los GuerrerosEII que hoy sienten miedo, vergüenza o que piensan que son “menos” por vivir con una EII:

Mírate al espejo.

Las cicatrices cuentan una historia de supervivencia.
Las ostomías cuentan una historia de vida.
Y cada día que sigues adelante cuenta una historia de valentía.

Nunca permitas que una enfermedad te convenza de esconder la persona extraordinaria que eres.

💜 Porque no tienes nada que ocultar.
💜 Porque tu historia importa.
💜 Porque eres mucho más fuerte de lo que imaginas.

The MyIBD Connection Program was an excellent and truly inspiring event. The panel interviews were outstanding, and the topics selected were highly relevant and meaningful for the IBD community.

The healthcare professionals explained each topic clearly and thoroughly, making complex information easy to understand for both patients and caregivers. Hearing the personal stories from patients and caregivers who shared their journeys was incredibly moving and created a strong sense of connection and support.

The atmosphere and chemistry throughout the event felt warm, welcoming, and positive. It was wonderful to see so many participants, patients, and caregivers coming together to learn, connect, and support one another.

I was especially impressed by the food options. As someone with dietary restrictions, seeing gluten-free choices available meant so much and showed true thoughtfulness and inclusivity toward the IBD community.

Overall, this was a very educational event with excellent networking opportunities. Thank you for creating such a meaningful and empowering experience for our community!

I want to acknowledge the experience I had at Savina’s Mexican Kitchen. I have Crohn’s disease, which makes dining out a constant challenge, since I require very specific adjustments in food preparation in order to eat safely.

From the moment I explained my situation, the server showed genuine empathy and real concern for my well-being. They not only listened carefully but also took the time to ensure the kitchen could safely adapt my order, which is not always common in the industry.

I was served shrimp tacos that were fully modified: no seasoning, just salt, cheese, avocado, and sour cream—exactly as I needed them to avoid any reaction. The attention to detail and the intention to make sure I could eat without risking getting sick made a significant difference in my experience.

For someone with Crohn’s disease, finding restaurants willing to accommodate menu modifications with this level of care is not easy. Because of that, I deeply appreciate the staff’s willingness and sensitivity toward my situation.

Based on my experience, I would like to invite you to be part of a Nonprofit organization HappyGut HappyLife Corp network of empathetic restaurants, so that other people like me can also enjoy your restaurant with safety and confidence. I believe this kind of awareness and flexibility can make a meaningful difference for guests with special dietary needs.

I sincerely appreciate the service and care I received at Savina’s Mexican Kitchen. Experiences like this truly make a difference for people with special dietary needs.
