An exciting visit at Bay Area Legal Services! 🎉 We were pleased to welcome Lindsay August and Seth Dreyfuss of TD Bank to our Ybor City office for a tour.

During their visit, they met with Calli Burnett and Tom DiFiore of our Housing Team, and helped us celebrate Bay Area Legal being named a recipient of the TD Charitable Foundation's Housing for Everyone grant.

Announced in April, the $250,000 grant will help us expand legal assistance for individuals and families facing eviction or foreclosure throughout the Tampa Bay area.

Thank you to Lindsay, Seth, and the TD Charitable Foundation for supporting access to safe, stable housing in our community!

June 1 marks the start of the 2026 hurricane season, and Bay Area Legal Services is more prepared than ever to help communities recover when disaster strikes. 🌀

In a recent episode of Legal Services Corporation's Talk Justice podcast, Bay Area Legal's own Jason Susalla shared how our new Mobile Intake Unit is helping bring critical legal services directly to hard-hit and rural communities when they need them most.

"The 2024 hurricane season drastically changed our Disaster Relief Program. The amount of devastation we had in our region was compounded by three consecutive hurricanes," said Susalla.

"The legal needs that came out of that storm season changed the way we thought about disaster response and recovery. The vehicle gives us that edge to be able to deploy out to those communities that may be in need following the storms."
