Filling the Void - Florida Every person has two types of hunger…
physical and spiritual. At Filling The Void, that’s why We Feed. The Soul. Our mission is to lift up the homeless and needy.

Every person has two types of hunger…physical and spiritual. The people we serve are hungry alright, but they’re also desperate for something deeper – hope. They’ve told us so. We take a two-fold approach to help the “whole” person, feeding them physically with high-quality sack lunches and ministering to their spiritual needs, as well. We serve Arby’s roast beef and Chick-Fil-A sandwiches while sharing Bible verses and offering to pray with folks, too. The goal is to foster lasting life-change and to see them go from meals to miracles. Since 2003, we’ve served more than 400,000 meals. Recently, we served 51,224 meals in 2024, which is our new high in a calendar year. We serve people where we find them – shaking their hands, learning their names, and pointing them to other agencies where they can get additional support. About 1/3 of those we serve are homeless. Another 1/3 live in shelters or temporary housing. The other 1/3 are simply just trying to get by and keep up with the bills. In a nutshell, we’re mobile, mission-minded, and motivated by Matthew 9:36 where “Jesus saw the crowds and was moved with compassion.”

We shouldn't have had enough lunches today. But, God. Nobody was turned away. Everyone was fed, despite the fact that we were told there twice the amount of people than we expected to serve!

It’s been 2 years! Filling the Void Florida pilot project started 2 years ago! We canvassed the streets with 50 lunches on that first outing. Now we average 700 lunches per month and we know the Lord has more outings in the pipeline! To date FTV FL has blessed 7,930 homeless, hungry & hurting on the streets of Tampa & the surrounding area with food, prayer & word from God in the devotional packed in every lunch!

Huge thank you to our amazing volunteers for saying ‘yes’ to being the hands & feet of Christ!

A heart felt thank you to all of the faithful financial donors. Each lunch costs approximately $4.50 and your donations make it possible! 🫶

We are just as excited about what God is doing today as we were when He planted the seed for this area over two years ago!

To God be the glory!

Julys haul at Sam’s! Enough to bless 500 this month spread out over 3 outreaches. While in line, a customer commented that I must have alot of kids and that led to being able to share about Filling the Void. As I’m walking back to my car..the Lord told me…Jill she was right…it’s for My children ❤️

Incredibly grateful for the Filling the Void team today. We spent the afternoon serving at the Salvation Army and taking to the streets of downtown Tampa. Met some amazing people, shared some hope, and were reminded of why we do this.

Our USF student-led team will also be out serving today, so stay tuned for more pics on this double-outreach Saturday!
