1st VP Will WH presented the FLSSAR 2nd place Americanism Poster Contest Award certificate to Esther H. along with her certificate from the Ladies Auxiliary. He also presented Eliiana G her FLSSAR Certificate of Commendation for her entry in the Moses Adams Brochure Contest. Congrats to both students for their hard work!

The Tampa Chapter had a marvelous time at the FLSSAR Spring BOM / State Meeting this past weekend. Some of our chapter members in addition to some of the officers were in attendance. It's always nice to have them see the inner workings of how and what goes on at the state level first-hand versus just hearing about it from the chapter officers - so thank you for taking the time to attend. We did have a great time this weekend. Our youth did well: Cadet Arthi G. took the JROTC National 1st Place award! Esther H. took 2nd Place for her Americanism Poster at the state level. Several of our chapter officers were presented an array of awards: some notably were Dick Young the Silver Color Guard Commander's Medal and a Silver Henry Knox Achievement Medal; Robbie Robinson a Silver Roger Sherman Commendation Medal and an Oak Leaf Cluster for his Silver Henry Knox Medal; Will WH a Silver Henry Knox Achievement Medal, a Service to Veteran's Medal, and 13 Oak Leaf Clusters to his Lafayette Volunteer Service Medal; Charles Klug a Silver Meritorious Service Medal. Several certificates of commendation, distinguished service, and appreciation were awarded as well. The Tampa Chapter also took 1st Place for it's Newsletter in the State Newsletter Contest! Yay! As always it was great to see so many faces from across the state in one place. All the members of the Florida, Sons of Liberty Brigade performed admirably in the several Color Guard presentations of the weekend. PG Elston, was there to install the new officers for the 2026/27 year. Secretary General Allen Greenly assisted with many of the awards Friday evening. We saw 3 new Patriot medal inductees: Congratulations to D. Gibbens, W. Arnold, and Bill Elder (Geo Washington).

Rededicate 250: National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise, and Thanksgiving

As we celebrate 250 years of freedom, this is an opportunity to rededicate ourselves to the principles that gave birth to this land of liberty. Come join with neighbors and friends from every state in the union in giving thanks and praise to GOD for 250 years of HIS providence for the United States, in praying that God bless and protect America for the next 250 years, and in solemnly rededicating our country as One Nation Under God.

The Tampa Chapter had it's last meeting for the spring this past Saturday. We had a packed house with new member inductions, youth award winners - to include our JROTC awardee who has also taken the 1st Place State level/FLSSAR JROTC award and will compete at National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, our virtual speaker - Sarah Botstein - coming in to talk about the PBS Series "The American Revolution", more silver level 250th Anniversary attainee compatriots, and presented some more Liberty Tree Sponsors with Certificates of Appreciate for the generous donations to our fundraising project... just a great overall meeting.

Hillsborough River Camp participated in the America 250th Ball hosted by the DeSoto DAR at the Tampa Yacht Club this past Friday. Turned out to be an Outstanding event, beautifully decorated, excellent food... it was truly and enjoyable evening had by all.

On April 21st, we (Tampa Chapter Color Guard) got to es**rt the 56th West Central Honor Flight Vets (little delayed post) along with the Clearwater Chapter. Always an honor to walk with them down the halls... Sons of the American Revolution - Clearwater Chapter

I was proud to present NJROTC Cadet Elder F. his SAR Bronze JROTC medal at the Freedom High School NJROTC awards ceremony last night. Congratulations cadet. May you continue and have long and bountiful career in the US Navy. Huzzah!
