Hero’s on the Water Tampa bay chapter had a veteran fishing outing today August 9,2025 at the War Veterans Memorial Park In Pinellas County.
We had some great veterans that were able to enjoy the day and do some fishing and catch up with some in expected old teammates. It was truly a blessed day. The weather worked out and fish were caught and fun was had by all. Thank you for all the volunteers and veterans that attended.

Thank you for all that showed up for our Tampa bay chapter Hero’s on the Water event. Weather was questionable however it was a beautiful day.

Welcome to our new page!

We are finally back up and running after the hurricanes! Ready to start a new year with a new page. My wife and I took over this group last year, but as Mother Nature would have it we haven’t been able to start holding events til now. As with all transitions there are hiccups,one of which was our inability to access our prior page so we started this one to keep everyone up to date with latest news.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Gary pounders I’ve been a police officer and in the Army/ National Guard. I retired with 24 years of service. I look forward to serving veterans and assisting in fishing expeditions for first responders and veterans and their family members. I look forward to meeting everyone.
We will update this page regularly with news and events. We are planning on holding our first event in May. We will post the details and link to the eventbrite sign up in the next few days. Since this is our first event we will be limiting attendance to 6 so sign up early.
