FROM DR. DEBBY HAMILTON ON THE CORONAVIRUS:
Hello Everyone,
I know with the news of the Coronavirus everyone is very worried. I wanted to send some natural recommendations that can help prevent viral infections and help you recover more quickly if you do get sick. The good news for parents is that our children are at least risk although we don't know why. What I worry about is if they don't get sick they can still carry the virus and infect adults unknowingly. Probably not a good time for children to visit their grandparents, who are at the highest risk!
I still think it is wise to give everyone immune support since we don't know enough about the virus to know what is going to happen. For those of you who have children with lung issues or immune issues, it is important to be much more careful because they are at higher risk.
Viral Immune Support
Dr. Debby’s Recommendations
Transfer Factor Multi-Immune™: Helps increase immune cells such as Natural Killer cells that fight viruses. Helps with first line and second line immune response. In my opinion, the best thing you can do right now to strengthen your immune system to avoid getting sick or to fight a virus if you do get sick. It is a combination of transfer factors, herbs (astragalus, Beta-glucan, arabinogalactan), mushrooms, colostrum, zinc, and selenium. This supplement has multiple research studies that show how it helps with immune function. Physician only supplement so can’t buy this on line but can get at www.researchednutritionals.com (code: HAIMD). You can get plain transfer factors online but would add the other ingredients such as colostrum, zinc, and a mushroom immune complex.
Suggested Dosing: 3 caps once daily for general support, 3 caps 3 times a day in acute situations. Any child over 5 would do 3 capsules, 2 to 5 would do 2. For anyone under 2 would probably do Transfer Factor Sensitive
BLt™ herbal tincture or Lomatium tincture: For BLt, this tincture has an herb called Lomatium that has been shown to inhibit CXCL10, an inflammatory cytokine that hurts the lungs in severe viral infections. Coronavirus can be very damaging to the lungs. Native Americans used Lomatium during the influenza outbreak of 1918. Well known as a good influenza herb and helpful for respiratory infections so should be good for Coronavirus.
Suggested Dosing: For prevention, ½ dropperful a day and then increase to 3 times a day if sick.Need to be careful because it can cause a rash, which is NOT allergic, but youwould need to stop the tincture. That is why it is good to start slowly before getting sick.
Myc-P™ or individual herbs: Isatis, Houttuynia, Chinese Skullcap and Cordyceps. These herbs have been used for other coronavirus infections. Can begin now with ½ dropperful a day and increase to 3 times a day if develop any symptoms. BLt™ and Myc-P™ may be used together in acute situations or can pick one.
Vitamin C: 1 gm to 3 gms a day. Can go higher if start to get sick
Vitamin A: Retinol so fat-soluble vitamin A, not beta-carotene: 2,500 daily
For acute infections, I will do 10,000 on the first day.Often used world-wide for acute viral infections such as measles at the first signs of infections.
Vitamin D: Shown to prevent influenza and lessen symptoms: 5,000 day
For acute infections, I will do 25,000 to 50,000 on the first day.
7. Zinc: 25 mg daily, take with food (In the Transfer factor multi-immune so no need to take extra if take that supplement)
Colloidal Silver Nasal Spray: colloidal silver kills coronavirus. Spraying in the nose can protect against the virus entering your nose while out in public or traveling. Can take oral if sick but not on a daily or preventive basis. Recommend Argentyn 23 which has research backing the product.
Both tinctures are also from Researchednutritionals but you can get the herbal tinctures alone. good herbal companies are Gaia herbs and Nutramedix. The vitamins and minerals can be easily bought online and do not need to be special brands.
There are also essential oils and specific lung herbs but I wanted to not overwhelm people but give the supplements that I am doing and what I am currently recommending.
Hope everyone stays healthy and if you have any individual questions or would like to schedule a phone consult please contact Courtney at [email protected].
Take care, Dr. Debby
