The Sand Hill Adventure Run on November 21, 2026 is your chance to run, walk, trot, and play through one of Scouting’s outdoor gems.

With a 5K Race, 2.5K Turkey Trot, and Color Fun Run, this family-friendly event is built for Scouts, families, runners, walkers, and community members of all ages.

Every step supports local Scouting programs that help youth build confidence, leadership, character, and real-life skills.

This week, we were proud to welcome Polk County JROTC cadets to Flaming Arrow Scout Reservation for the JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge. From early mornings to hands-on activities like climbing, rappelling, water survival training, and leadership reaction courses, cadets spent the week building confidence, teamwork, and resilience in a demanding outdoor environment.

Thank you to the cadets and instructors for choosing Flaming Arrow as the place to grow, lead, and push beyond what feels comfortable.

A huge thank you to Tampa Electric for hosting our Electricity Merit Badge Workshop and giving Scouts a hands-on look at the power behind our homes, cities, and camps.

Scouts had the opportunity to learn directly from industry professionals, explore electricity safety, build simple circuits, and see real-world applications of how electricity is generated, transmitted, and used every day.

We are grateful for community partners like TECO who help bring Scouting to life through meaningful, career-connected experiences that spark curiosity and help youth build practical skills for the future. Thank you for helping keep the adventure powered!

Hillsborough County is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Anti-Bullying Recognition Award, honoring youth who are working to stop bullying, support others, and build a more positive environment.

If you know a Scout or group of Scouts in Hillsborough County who has made an impact through kindness, advocacy, awareness, or action, take a few minutes to nominate them.
