Prohibition Krewe of 42

Prohibition Krewe of 42 A 501(c)(3) founded in 2026 by members of The Tampa Club.

Inspired by Tampa’s colorful 1920s Prohibition era—when the city was known as a rebellious “wet” town with speakeasies—bringing that spirited history through community, charity, and social events.

During Prohibition, the Key Club (also known as the Eagle Club) was located on the southwest corner of Jackson and Franklin streets in downtown Tampa. This prominent, invite-only speakeasy was situated less than 100 yards from the city police headquarters, catering to an elite, well-connected clientele during the 1920s.

Yesterday marked a historic milestone for the Krewe. Treasurer, Jenae Turne,r and President/Secretary, Elena Paredes, officially finalized the Krewe’s bank account. Special thanks to Jenae Turner for attaining our 501(c)(3)— an important step in building a strong foundation for the organization.

The rest of the founding board includes Robert Paredes, Operations; Joe Ebanks, Vice President; Bill Nipper, Inter-Krewe Council Representative; and Joe Mora, Security Officer.

Our krewe will consist of 42 founding members. As we move forward, we’re excited to continue growing the Krewe, hosting monthly social gatherings, and sharing updates on the development of our parade float — designed by Joe Mora.

This is just the beginning. The future of the Krewe is taking shape, and we look forward to building something truly special in Tampa and supporting The Epicurean Foundation - our charity of choice. 🎊🎉🩷💜❤️
