In wildlife rescue, you meet some wonderful people and make some great friends. Dorothy Kaufmann was both of those and so much more. It is with broken hearts that we share the news of her passing. She was the Director of Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida, Inc. in Pensacola where she and her organization worked tirelessly to rescue and rehab wildlife in need! We will miss her terribly, personally and professionally. đź’”
It is with great sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Dorothy Kaufmann, our beloved Director of the Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida. Her legacy of giving our local wildlife a second chance lives on in the thousands of animals she helped save and the countless humans she befriended along the way. Words cannot express the gratitude we all feel for having been a part of her life. She was beautiful inside and out and always had a funny story to tell and an ear to lend to anyone who needed it. She was a wife, a sister, a best friend, a mentor, a colleague, and everything in between and the world is simply not the same without her. Giving wildlife a second chance was her mission in life and the family she has amassed at the Wildlife Sanctuary will continue that mission in her spirit. Forever and always in our hearts, forever and always on our minds. Rest easy dear friend.
There will be a celebration of life Friday August 25th at The Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida at 105 North S Street, Pensacola, Fl 32505 from 6pm to 8pm.
