Join us on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Florida Department of Health in Taylor County for free or low-cost breast and cervical cancer screenings.

Walk-ins are welcome or schedule your appointment in advance.

Free Hurricane Preparedness Distribution Event for Leon County on June 6th!

Keep your family safe this hurricane season! Join Farm Share, in partnership with Global Empowerment Mission (GEM), for the Annual Hurricane Preparedness Distribution on Saturday, June 6, 9:00 a.m. at the Leon County Health Department, 2965 Major James Jr. Way.

They will be providing free essential hurricane supplies, such as water, emergency blankets, flashlights and headlamps, and MREs (Meals Ready to Eat), to help families prepare and stay resilient before disaster strikes.

Lighthouse had our first Blind-Friendly Business Trainings at Eye Associates of North Florida & Seven Hills Surgery Center (Tallahassee, Quincy, Crawfordville & Perry) this week! We demonstrated the human guide technique for assisting customers with vision loss to navigate safely through their building. We also shared etiquette for interacting with individuals with vision loss and provided goggles mimicking the diverse types of vision loss to give staff a deeper understanding of the challenges individuals with vision loss
face.

This training promotes respect, dignity, inclusion, and enhances effective communication providing a better customer experience.
