Our forests supply wood and other materials needed to manufacture more than 5000 products ranging from furniture to pharmaceuticals, from cosmetics to crayons. Our forests also provide lands for green space, water recharge areas, wildlife habitat, and countless other environmental benefits. Additionally, the forestry industry creates a $16.1 billion boost to the state’s economy. Almost 78,000 Flor

idians work in jobs made possible by forestry. Seventy percent of the state’s timberland is owned and managed by private individuals and companies, many of whom are Association members.

"If a worker developed their career in an environment where asking for help was seen as a weakness, the idea of showing vulnerability may not feel like an option. But we need to move past that. The 'walk it off' mentality does not work when the injury is internal."

At last count, there were more than 5000 products we use regularly that contain forest resources in some form or fashion.
 
Florida forestry boasts a long and strong history of sustainability, meaning we grow more than we harvest. Using forest products boosts sustainability by providing solid markets for landowners, which enables them to plant more trees and start the forestry cycle all over again.
