Tacoma Moon Festival The 2025 Tacoma Moon Festival will be held at the Chinese Reconciliation Park on September 13th, 1PM-6PM.

The inaugural Tacoma Moon Festival on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Chinese Reconciliation Park in Old Town Tacoma drew more than 3000 visitors. The Moon Festival is a popular Asian celebration of abundance and togetherness dating back over 3,000 years to China’s Zhou Dynasty. This family-friendly celebration will bring together businesses, residents, community groups and visitors from all a

reas of Pierce County and beyond for a safe, fun, cultural experience. This annual waterfront event will also highlight the progress of a collaborated project between the City of Tacoma and its citizens to build the commemorated Chinese Reconciliation Park.

🚨 IT’S ALMOST TIME! 🎉
Join us TOMORROW for the 2025 Tacoma Moon Festival!

✔️ Time: Saturday, September 13th, 1PM-6PM.
✔️ Location: Chinese Reconciliation Park (1741 N. Shuster Parkway, Tacoma)
✔️ Tickets: Free, open to all, and family-friendly!

This year’s theme—“One Moon, One People, One World”—will come alive on the Mainstage with music and dance from China, Japan, India, Brazil, and the Philippines. Midafternoon, we will take a brief break from the performances to partner with Tacoma Community House to welcome new American Citizens.

Chinese culture will bookend the festival with the Mak Fai Lion Dance Association opening the festival and the Hwa Sheng Chinese Opera Club closing it, with performances in full makeup and costume of arias from famous scenes of Chinese Opera. Our complete mainstage performance schedule can be seen below.

As always, the festival will close with a lantern parade led by the Moon Princess- always a magical experience for kids and a great photo opportunity for parents!

The 2025 Tacoma Moon Festival will be held on September 13th, 2025 from 1 PM to 6 PM.
📍Tacoma Chinese Reconciliation Park

This family-friendly celebration brings together businesses, residents, community groups, and visitors from all areas of Pierce County and beyond for a safe, fun, cultural experience. The one-day festival introduces the Asian traditions of the Mid-Autumn Festival and the legend of the Chinese Moon Princess, while sharing the arts and heritage of Tacoma’s many different immigrant cultures through stage performances, crafts, and other activities. The inaugural Tacoma Moon Festival was held on Saturday, September 29, 2012, and attracted over 3,000 festival goers. Receiving great media attention through our local TV, radio station, newspapers, and social media, this event provides an important opportunity for building community and connections.
