🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸

Today, we celebrate the people whose hard work keeps our communities, workplaces, and economy moving forward.

Labor Day is more than a long weekend—it’s a reminder of the generations of workers who stood together to fight for fair wages, safer working conditions, reasonable hours, benefits, and the dignity of being treated fairly on the job.

Labor unions have played an important role in that history. By coming together collectively, workers have had a stronger voice in advocating for better working conditions and protections. The rights workers have today were shaped by decades of organizing, solidarity, and people willing to speak up for one another.

Today, we honor those who came before us, recognize the workers who continue to stand up for fairness, and remember that strong workplaces are built when workers have a meaningful voice.

Happy Labor Day! ✊🛠️🇺🇸 Here’s to the workers who make it all happen—and to the continued pursuit of dignity, fairness, and respect for every worker.

This past weekend we hosted our first hike out to Kennedy Falls outside of Olympia. The weather was perfect, the views were amazing, and we had a great time spending quality time together!
We'd love to get out again before the weather gets yucky, so stay tuned for a future hike!

A day of celebration at Southwest Washington Electrical, Miss Kathy is celebrating her 25 years with us today! She is a vital piece of the puzzle here and we are very fortunate to have her here. Make sure to say Thank you to her for all her years of service to the Center and all the Apprentices/Journeylevels. THANK YOU KATHY!!!

Our Local 73 brothers and sisters in Spokane need a little extra support right now. ❤️

Several Local 73 families lost their homes in the recent Spokane fires and are now working to rebuild their lives in new rental homes. We’re putting together care packages to help make that transition a little easier.

We’re collecting sheets and throw blankets, kitchen supplies, cleaning supplies, grocery gift cards, and baby items such as diapers, clothing, and gift cards. One of the families welcomed a new baby in July, and another is expecting in September, making this especially meaningful.

If you’re able to donate, please drop items off at the Hall. We’ll take care of the shipping costs to Spokane, so your donation can go directly toward helping these families.

Every little bit helps, and we know our membership has always been incredible when one of our own needs a hand. ❤️

We still have some tickets for our annual Baseball Night at Tacoma Rainiers. Friday August 28th. Family and friends are welcome. Tickets are $20ea and available for purchase now at the hall! Get them while you can!

In Memory of Taylor Williams

It is with a heavy heart that we share the heartbreaking loss of our brother and fellow IBEW member, Taylor Williams. Taylor’s family asked the local to inform his coworkers of his passing, so the initial announcement was limited to his most recent job site. Because Taylor worked with so many members of Local 76 as well as members from other locals while he traveled to work in Eastern Washington in 2023, we wanted to make a broader announcement through social media.

The work Taylor was part of was one of the larger jobs in our Local, and because of that, many of our members had the opportunity to know him there. Others knew Taylor from jobs they had worked together on over the years. His loss will be felt by many throughout our union family.

We know that there are people in our Local who knew Taylor well, and there are undoubtedly stories, memories, and moments that deserve to be remembered and shared. We would like to open this space for anyone who knew Taylor to leave a few words, share a memory, or simply say his name.

Please be respectful of Taylor’s family and of one another as we navigate this difficult loss.

Rest in peace, Taylor. You will be remembered by the brothers and sisters whose lives you were a part of.

Our union family in Spokane is facing a tough time after recent fires caused devastating losses, forcing some members to evacuate and lose personal belongings.

Every dollar raised will go directly to help impacted members with essentials like temporary housing, food, transportation, and emergency expenses.

No donation is too small whether you can give $10, $50, or simply share this campaign; your support can make a real difference during this difficult time.
