Big news for our community. 🏡

Our founder, Noemi Cagatin-Porter, has been selected for the 2026 Housing Accelerator Fellowship with LISC Puget Sound in partnership with Amazon.

This isn’t just a title. This is 18 months of real work, training, partnerships, and access to resources that move projects from vision to construction.

Across the region, this cohort is advancing over 2,400 affordable homes. And with Washington needing more than 1 million new homes, this work matters.
We’re proud of Noemi, not just for being selected, but for what she’s bringing back to Pierce County.

At CJK Community Homes, we’ve supported hundreds of individuals and families on their journey from crisis to stability. Now, we’re building on that foundation.

Building is where we’re headed. As Noemi brings this experience back to our community, CJK Community Homes is stepping into development, focused on ADA-accessible homes that meet the needs of our community, especially those too often overlooked.

We’re not here to just talk about housing. We’re here to build what our communities actually need.

From reentry to certified peer support and now part of our young adult storytelling cohort.

With consistent support: rides, guidance, showing up and his commitment to put in the work, he’s showing what’s possible.

It takes time, but with the work and the right support, anything is possible.

Week 5 of our Rewrite Your Rhythm storytelling cohort, funded by

And we’re seeing it…They’re more comfortable. They’re opening up. They’re starting to share, really share. The trust is building and you can really FEEL it.

They’re not just writing anymore…they’re rewriting their story.

Jonathan Jackson, LMFTA, MBA-thank you for an awesome class last night. We all had so much fun…so much fun they stayed late and had to tell them to go home. 🥰

Shoutout to our CJK staff who show up beyond the job…picking up and dropping off 4–5 of our young adults each week so they can attend and stay engaged.

Meet Arnold, owner of Built by Ano LLC.

He was part of our Commerce-funded Young Adult Financial Literacy Cohort back in 2024…and since then, he’s been moving.

Graduated college. Started his own car dealership. And still choosing to stay connected and grow.

He’s now part of our Storytelling Cohort, facilitated by Jonathan Jackson (Karima) and funded by Pierce County…continuing to pour into himself and the community.

At CJK Community Homes, we don’t just support in the moment… we stay connected.

We purchased this vehicle to help provide transportation for our clients, and now Arnold is part of that support.

That’s what this work is about.

Real growth. Real impact. Full circle.

Today, we housed Harry into our Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH), funded by Pierce County.

With the support of Andy and our team, he got settled into his new home. Having a place to call your own is where stability begins.

Last week, we also housed Marquis, a single dad, into our shared housing after being referred to us by IBJ.

He asked to be connected to additional resources for fathers…and that’s exactly what we did. We connected him with Kevin from Multicultural Fatherhood Engagement, and today, when he showed up for court, Kevin and the group showed up for him.
That kind of support is powerful.

On his way home, Marquis picked up his books from the office for school. He’s now enrolled at Olympic College and taking steps to better himself.

This is what it looks like…housing, connection, and community all working together.

From crisis to stability… we walk with you. 💚

Showing up in community spaces like this matters.

From connecting with partners to sharing resources and real conversations…this is how we continue building pathways forward.

Grateful to stand alongside organizations doing the work and creating opportunities for our community. 💚

And HUGE thank you to Matt Jordan at Tacoma FASTSIGNS for our table cover and banner…turned out beautiful!!!

Week 4 of Rewrite Your Rhythm… and you can feel the shift.

They’re opening up. Challenging old stories. Doing the work, even when it’s uncomfortable.

What stood out… some of our young adults are asking for more additional group sessions with Jonathan.

That says everything.

And we love this… three of our young adults went to see Thrett Brown at his shop (Solvyr) to refill and recreate the scents they made last year. He facilitated their financial literacy cohort two years ago, and now, through the business he’s built, they’re still connected and supporting each other.

Full circle moments like that matter.

Appreciate Jonathan Jackson (Karima Solutions) for facilitating the class and our founder Noemi Cagatin-Porter (ALF Cohort ###I), for being part of this work.

This is J.

A few years ago, J and her sisters came to us as young adults needing housing.

They stayed in our program for over a year and today, they have a place of their own.

J is now in barbering school, building her future. She’s incredibly artistic and even does tattoos on the side.

She still checks in with us from time to time. Recently, she reached out because she needed a laptop for school, and we were able to get her our last Amazon donated tablet.

While she was here, she shared that we’re the reason she’s in barber school.

But the truth is… J did the work. She stayed focused. She kept going.

This is why we do what we do.
It’s never just about housing…it’s about relationship, consistency, and walking alongside our young adults as they build their future.

They don’t just leave… they stay connected. And we’re still here when they need support. Always. 💛

Today we welcomed a young family into one of our shared homes.

It’s a stepping stone…but a powerful one.

Grateful to our partners at St. Vincent de Paul for stepping in with a hotel voucher and helping bridge the gap until move-in day.

This is what community looks like. 💚
