Road Dawgs MC Syracuse

Road Dawgs MC Syracuse The Road Dawgs Motorcycle Club Inc. is a registered non-profit organization that serves as a distinguished law enforcement motorcycle club.

Founded in 1995 in New Hampshire by a State Trooper, the club was created to unite police officers who could rely on each other for motorcycle runs instead of riding solo. It took fourteen months to select a name for the club that would not be offensive or associated with deviant behavior, demonic symbols, or eccentric beliefs. The color combinations of the rockers and center patch are intentional

ly light to avoid resembling the 'Colors' of any outlaw motorcycle club. The ROAD DAWGS Motorcycle Club Inc. has much to offer, including friendship, brotherhood, and group activities in a relaxed yet controlled atmosphere. Every member in each chapter shares a strong closeness and a sense of loyalty and respect for one another. As a reputable law enforcement motorcycle club, the ROAD DAWGS Motorcycle Club Inc. proudly maintains no affiliation with any other motorcycle club. We are a respectful group of family-oriented motorcycling enthusiasts who do not attract negative attention to law enforcement or the club. Membership in the club is exclusively for sworn or retired law enforcement officers, with sponsorship required for entry. There is no requirement to own a Harley Davidson; however, the café racer style 'Crotch Rocket' is prohibited from our ranks. Please reach out for any further information or if you have interest in joining.

Today, we remember Trooper Craig J. Todeschini, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty protecting others exactly 20 years ago today.

Trooper Todeschini, 25, was killed on April 23rd, 2006, in a traffic accident while pursuing a motorcycle driven by a suspect driving over 100 mph in the town of Pompey.

As a result of this incident, “The Craig J. Todeschini Unlawfully Fleeing A Police Officer Act”, was signed into law by Governor George Pataki in 2006.

Trooper Todeschini was a three year veteran of the State Police and was assigned to SP Lafayette at the time of his death.

Today, and everyday, we remember Trooper Todeschini, along with his family and sister, Lindsay McCormack, who started at SPD in the Syracuse Regional Police Academy Class 11, a mere 15 days after her brother’s death.

Never forgotten.

Great story from the Syracuse community displaying the kindness from Law Enforcement and additional resources coming together.

Officer James Pastorello, a 9-year veteran with the Syracuse Police Department, saw a woman struggling to carry a box of groceries while walking through Thornden Park in very cold weather. He kindly asked if she needed a ride. She got emotional and told him she was headed to Oakwood Cemetery to visit her father, who died in June, and her husband, Rev. Eddie Holmes, who passed away 5 years ago. She has lived in Syracuse, New York for over 55 years.

But what Officer Pastorello didn't know at first was heartbreaking. That woman’s name was Rhea Holmes. Before her husband passed away, they were planning to buy their dream home together. But after she was evicted and lost her job, Rhea ended up sleeping at the cemetery for months. She had lost hope and stayed near her husband's grave because it was the only place that felt safe. When the truth came out, Officer Pastorello helped get her into a hotel, connected her with people who could help long-term, and started a GoFundMe campaign called "Help Rhea Find A Place To Call Home." So far, it has raised over $12,000 to help her get back on her feet.

Because of Officer Pastorello's kindness, Rhea's life changed forever. She was finally safe indoors and soon got a fresh start through A Tiny Home for Good, a nonprofit that helps people experiencing homelessness. Her story touched hearts all across the country and was even featured on On the Road with Steve Hartman. In an interview, Rhea called him an "angel." When asked why he did it, James said, "It was just the right thing to do. I wasn’t going to let Rhea sleep outside again." And now, because one person stopped to care and the kindness and compassion of strangers, Rhea is safe and warm again.
