The end of 2025 is fast approaching.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization called 727instrumental where we provide underserved Band and/or Orchestra Students from grades 3rd through 12th with a musical instrument of their choice to own.

We are running a donor match fundraising campaign. Any dollar amount you donate will be matched 100% by a private donor. Our goal is to reach $15,000 in this campaign. So, any dollar amount you donate helps!

Learning music and playing a musical instrument is more than just a fun hobby, it’s a powerful way for children to express themselves, explore creativity, and develop life skills that will shape their growth and happiness.

Meet Mark DiGorgio, Founder of 727 Instrumental ☺️
You may know him from the events he produces, Party in the Square, located downtown in Clinton Square. Mark began these events with one goal; to bring free to attend, family friendly, live music events to downtown Syracuse. This summer, Mark and his team celebrated 5 years of Party In The Square and commemorated the kickoff of the season with a proclamation from Senator Rachel May and official ribbon cutting ceremony presented by Center State CEO to celebrate the launch of 727 Instrumental, a foundation that Mark began to support kids in our community with music instruments and access to lessons. The event was attended by Mayor Ben Walsh, Deputy Mayor (Incoming Mayor elect) Sharon Owens, Common Council members Rita Paniagua and Marty Nave, Assemblyman Al Stirpe, and Center State CEO Ambassadors, as well as friends and family of the organization ❤️

The foundations name, 727 Instrumental, is a nod to Marks childhood home address where he began his musical journey playing the saxophone in 3rd grade at SCSD's Webster Elementary School. After playing on a borrowed instrument for a handful of weeks, Marks family needed to purchase a saxophone in order for him to continue in the band and could not afford to. Recognizing Marks sincere interest and early talents for playing, the band instructor offered to secure an instrument for Mark, which was not common practice in the 70's. Mark continued playing the saxophone through 8th grade, thanks to the generosity of his teacher. Mark has often wondered if he would have continued playing the sax and believes that, if he had owned one, he would have. The seed of thoughtful generosity planted by Marks teacher has come full-circle with the launch of 727 Instrumental 🎷

To date, Mark and his family have gifted several instruments to middle schoolers in the Syracuse City School District, partnering with each schools band and orchestra instructors to identify children that would most benefit from owning an instrument. While SCSD has a borrow program in place which provides students with loaned instruments during the school year, 727 Instrumental recognizes the benefit of owning an instrument; year round access to learn, practice and play, ownership pride, the responsibility of maintenance and the probability that by owning an instrument a child will continue in their bands program.

To our wonderful lineup of bands, performers, vendors and sponsors:

We recently wrapped another successful (and HOT) event series, marking the fifth year of Party in the Square, and our first ever Bar-B-Cuse Fest, Mac-N-Cheese Fest, and The Dead Is Alive Fest (a tribute to the Grateful Dead). Thank you to everyone who has participated and supported, performed, tabled, sponsored, attended, promoted or contributed to these events, we could not do this without you. Thank you again.

With that said, I am so excited to share with all of you, 727 Instrumental Foundation, a family foundation that will be supporting children grades 3-12 enrolled/interested in music programs (attending local schools) by providing students that demonstrate an interest and financial need, with instruments, access to lessons and summer band camps.
