Someone is still going through the details. Still looking for what was missed. Because when a case goes cold, the questions don’t. Families are left searching for answers they were told may never come—often without the resources to keep going. That’s where we step in. We fund the work, bring in investigators, and keep cases moving forward with one goal: the truth. Not every case is closed, but none are forgotten.

Our work is made possible by the generous support of donors, including the Vegliante Family Foundation. Recently, we received a $5,000 grant which will help us continue to help families in need. Since 2021, we've assisted families in their quest for missing loved ones, uncovering answers, and seeking justice. 2026 is here, and we’re reintroducing who we are.

We are the National Institute for Law & Justice (NILJ)—and we stand with families of missing loved ones and unresolved homicide cases.

We fund professional investigative services at no cost to families, working with investigators, forensic experts, and law enforcement to uncover truth, provide answers, and bring closure.

Every case is a person. Every family deserves support.

More than a quarter of missing person cases in the U.S. remain unresolved long-term.

At NILJ, we believe families deserve answers, support, and compassion… not silence. We work to assist, advocate, and stand alongside those seeking healing and closure, no matter how much time has passed.

Cold cases are not forgotten cases.

Please join us in welcoming Vicki Wells to our NILJ board of directors!

ABOUT VICKI WELLS
Vicki Wells earned her BFA from Point Park University and her Juris Doctor from Northwestern California University School of Law, and she is licensed to practice law in California. With nearly 25 years in the entertainment industry, she gained firsthand insight into the complexities of contracts and negotiations, later broadening her perspective through work in the commercial insurance industry, where she addressed workers’ compensation, health insurance, OSHA compliance, and challenging HR issues facing small to mid-sized businesses. These experiences revealed how often individuals and organizations lack access to clear, trustworthy legal guidance, motivating Vicki to pursue law as a means of serving underserved and overlooked communities. Guided by integrity, empathy, and a commitment to justice, she focuses her practice on advocating for those who need support and representation the most. In addition to her legal work, Vicki is a gifted psychic and empath who has offered professional readings since 2002, using her intuitive abilities to help individuals gain clarity, understanding, and a sense of closure.
