Selfish move by Iran.

You don’t get to threaten the Strait of Hormuz and expect the world to sit back and watch. That is a global lifeline for energy, food, and shipping. Everything runs through it.
Roughly 25% of the world’s seaborne oil trade, along with significant volumes of fuel and fertilizer, moves through that narrow corridor.
When that flow is threatened, prices rise, economies suffer, and the most vulnerable countries are hit the hardest.

Now the United States of America and its allies are launching Project Freedom to enforce freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. The objective is clear: keep the waterway open and secure for global commerce.
Guided-missile destroyers, over 100 land- and sea-based aircraft, multi-domain unmanned platforms, and 15,000 service members are being deployed to secure the passage. Merchant vessels transiting this critical route will be escorted by the finest navy in the world.

Iran’s reckless actions may lead to a wider war, but the message is clear: the United States and its allies will not let Iran choke the world anymore. No one owns that strait, and no one gets to close it.

"We don’t need foreign funding,” says Prime Minister Ousmane SONKO
Yes, we do, and very much so.
Senegal is under financial pressure precisely because doors have been shutting on us since our downgrade to CCC+. This is the financial reality Senegal is dealing with right now.
At home:
-student scholarships are not being paid
-teachers & educators are experiencing systemic delays in scholarship payments & salaries
-even our security forces are reporting delays in salary disbursement
Internationally:
-Senegal’s credit rating was downgraded to CCC+ by S&P Global, which means limited access to financing
-public debt is now reported to be about 119% of GDP
-the IMF paused its support program pending a full reassessment of Senegal’s debt position

At this point, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs really needs to step in and recalibrate the Prime Minister’s public statements. And if necessary, the President needs to intervene to protect the credibility and stability of the Republic.
This is beginning to look like deliberate sabotage, and this is causing serious diplomatic damage to Senegal.
A Prime Minister of Senegal cannot speak as if he alone represents the Republic. He does not have that authority unless formally mandated by the Republic and communicates through the proper republican channels.

Senegal does not stand behind those words, and there needs to be clear communication to correct the record.

If Luxembourg decides to suspend cooperation, it is because an agreement was violated. In any contract, when one party violates the terms, the other has the right to withdraw.

The LGBTQ law that was recently passed is a direct violation of human rights if it criminalizes consensual same s*x relationships. Two adults of the same s*x can genuinely fall in love. That is part of human reality. Labeling that relationship as an "act against nature" ignores or even erases the dignity & complexity of human life.

We can only hope that the Republic of Senegal will step in, correct this immediately, & restore the credibility & stability our nation deserves.

We are really concerned by recent reports involving Renee Good, a Colorado Springs resident and LGBTQ+ community member, who was seriously injured during an encounter with federal agents.

As an organization rooted in both Senegal and the United States, we affirm that every person, regardless of identity, deserves dignity, safety, and the full protection of their rights.

We call for a transparent, independent investigation into the circumstances of this incident.
We also reaffirm our commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion, youth empowerment, and civic accountability, in Senegal, in the U.S., and across our global community. Justice and dignity are foundational.

Now we are talking! 🔥🔥🔥

This is what patriotism looks like. A leader who puts his country and his people first. A leader who is not afraid to throw his nation’s weight around to protect its interests and improve life for its citizens.

As you all know, America is struggling with inflation and sky-high gas prices tied to oil. Now, with Venezuela turning over 30 to 50 million barrels, all sold at market price and controlled by the United States, both nations stand to benefit. This is real leverage right here.
If you have been paying over $10 a gallon, expect that to shift. That is money back in American wallets.

What should we learn from Trump’s bold move in Venezuela? That every nation needs to prioritize its own interests. Build real power. Secure real leverage. Stop playing victim. The world is moving fast, and only the strong will shape it.

This is a wake-up call.
