The Legacy School The Legacy School serves students with dyslexia and related language-based learning disabilities.

At Legacy, we strive to serve the needs of our school families. Our school day runs from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, with an extended day program available from 3:00 pm to 4:15 pm Monday thru Thursday. The after-school students can participate in a variety of clubs and take advantage of our supervised homework room.

🧦 Socktober Spirit Days were so much fun at Legacy! From showing off our school spirit to collecting socks for donation, our students came together to make a difference. Every pair is a small step toward helping others, and we’re so proud of our Legacy community for turning fun into an opportunity to give back!

🎃 The Candy Corn Contest
Get ready to guess! Our Candy Corn Contest begins October 22. Each guess is $0.25, or get 5 guesses for just $1! The contest runs through October 29, and the winner will be announced on October 30. Think you can guess the closest? Give it a try!

🎀 Pink Out Day – October 23rd
Wear pink to show support for breast cancer awareness! Students can participate by wearing pink for the day with a $1 donation. Let’s come together as a community to spread awareness and show our support! All donations will be given to a local breast cancer support group, The Red Devils of Baltimore.💗

We can’t wait to see our Legacy community get involved in these fun events and meaningful causes! 💙

❤️ Why do we wear red for dyslexia?

October 8 is a day to reclaim the color red.

For many students with dyslexia, red can carry a negative association because it is often the color used to mark mistakes. But dyslexia is not a measure of intelligence, effort, or potential.

By wearing red, we’re helping change what the color represents — from correction to confidence, awareness, and pride.

This October 8, join Legacy in reclaiming red for dyslexia. ❤️

Hello Legacy Family!
Our newly formed Legacy Leadership Board is thrilled to kick off its very first initiative: SOCKtober! From October 5th–15th, we are coming together to collect new socks for three incredible local organizations: Shepherd’s Staff, America’s Warriors, and Catholic Charities.
Our goal is 100% school participation, with every Legacy member donating just one package of new socks.
How to Participate:
🧦 Donate: Use the QR code on our flyer to order from our online registry, or send new socks in with your student to place in our student-decorated collection boxes.
🧦 Win Big: The building with the highest participation rate will bring home the Community CUP Award! 🏆
🧦 Show Your Spirit: Keep an eye out for 3 SOCK Spirit Days where students can show off their favorite fun socks!

Thank you for always showing our community so much heart. Let’s step up together and make SOCKtober a huge success!

We weren’t surprised by the variety of answers our students gave when asked about their favorite subjects! Each student has unique interests, strengths, and passions, and we love seeing those differences reflected in what they enjoy most!

And the results? Art and tutoring tied for the most votes! 🎨📚 Are we surprised?

At Legacy, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to learning. 💙 While each class embraces this philosophy, tutoring is especially designed around each student’s individual needs, strengths, and learning style.

A class designed just for you? No wonder tutoring made it to the finals! ✨
