🖤💞FLASH💞🖤 wants to know whatcha up to??

She’s having a vacay while her foster mom is away doing people things. She’s already been busy. Here’s what her itinerary consisted of so far…

“I have a flash dump for you!! We went on a hike and played in the creek, saw some ponies through fence, saw a cat from a afar, passed 2 dogs and played for 15 minutes after that😂”

Once vacay is over though, this lucky little lady will be going to school! 🎉🙌 Yup, that’s right… she is going to be professionally trained by Ridgeside K9 Central MD!! We just know she will excel there and will come out and be an amazing, well-mannered young lady. So get your applications in NOW so she can be yours at handoff and you can get a lesson on how to keep her learning journey going. 🐕✏️

Flash is a ~1 year old Pitsky (APBT-Siberian Husky 50/50 mix!) She is housetrained and fun. Check out her bio at tarashouse.org to learn more about her (and to apply).

PARIS 🤍🧡

Today was going to be her adoption day but things don’t always work out as planned. 🫠 One of the good thing about dogs is that they don’t let a change of plans ruin their day. And one good thing about Paris is that she pretty much enjoys every day to the fullest. 🤗

Even though she’s been with Tara’s House for a while we really haven’t shared much about her personality or what her perfect home is. That is, until now… (Spoiler alert: she’s a ball of energetic fun!)

Paris has spent the past 3 weeks with the training magicians of Ridgeside K9 Central MD and as we reported in her previous post, she had a blast there. Why? Because Paris is a super fun little dog and the trainers know how to engage her body and mind. Her anxious behavior that she displayed previously has melted away. She is more confident and happy, and when it’s time to settle - she can and does. She eagerly played the game of “what am I learning today” and thought it was all a hoot, because training can be fun when you make it so.

Paris’ perfect home has someone in it most of the day. She needs lots of movement and can play, play, play as much as you are willing. (Fetch with her favorite acorn toy is just the bomb.) But now she can also play on her own, and then cuddle up on the couch with you. Her perfect home knows that she’s the kind of dog that needs mental stimulation too, and can exercise her mind with structure, learning and games.

Paris does good with other dogs in the house, but prefers the company of humans. She will mostly ignore or coexist with other dogs and has lived with a cat previously. She is less nonchalant about other dogs while out on a leash, but a confident handler with a strong relationship with her makes all the difference there. If that’s not something you feel excited about, a fenced yard with lots of fetch and play time would be a fantastic alternative to leash walking.

Paris needs a furever home to go home to. If yours matches the description of her perfect home, then please go to tarashouse.org and fill out an application. She would be excited to meet you. 😊

About a year ago this handsome hunk NEWTON found his human (after once having one, then getting lost and being brought to the shelter and then catching the eye of a volunteer and being tapped for Ridgeside K9 Central MD board and train and becoming a Tara’s House dog… Phew!) Now he’s as happy as he can be, being loved by all and getting to play with his best fren. This is why we do what we do!

He’s living his happy tails life and we couldn’t be happier for him and his dad! Adorable video in comments.

Prince Louie found his people! 🙌🥳
This little guy will be loved beyond compare in his new home.

Thank you to all his royal subjects who helped him find his castle, from the shelter staff and volunteers to his foster family. It takes a village to find these dogs their happily ever after and we couldn’t be more grateful. 🙏

Happy tails, Prince Louie! 👑 Be good!

🤎FOSTER NEEDED🤎
Laila is a spayed Chocolate Lab (mix?) who has about 5 years under her belt. Originally lost, her owners have now surrendered her to the shelter because they are moving. 🙄 She is a bigger gal, weighing 90lbs and as a result she is strong and if she doesn’t want to go somewhere you’re going to have a hard time making her. 😂 She is stressed out, having lost her everything and finding herself in a loud and chaotic shelter. She wasn’t a fan of meeting a small dog in her early days at the shelter but has been very affectionate to people and may be housebroken.

Laila loves fetch and belly rubs. She seems particularly bothered by all the loud noise at the shelter and doesn’t want her human to leave when she has to go back to her kennel. We don’t have much other info on her yet, but will share when we do. So for now, a home without other dogs - or at least not small ones - would be best.

Please reach out if you can help by fostering. There’s no cost to you and we will support you every step of the way.

Yay! A weekend adoption is what keeps us going. 72 days after coming to Tara’s House, Misty found her people. 💞 She will have loving parents to dote on her and 3 kitties to be bestest frens with! 🐈🐈🐈

Quality over quantity/speed. And we believe this match is a great one. Happy tails, Misty girl! Be good! 😘

It’s summertime! Time for outside play in a new haircut with a new fren. ✂️🐶

🐦‍⬛Little Bird’s🐦‍⬛ personality unveil goes something like this… (Spoiler alert: she’s an absolute doll baby!)

Having put the fear of being left at a shelter behind her, she has warmed up to her surroundings, people, and new lot in life. In just a few short weeks she has let her guard down, and her sweet-natured playfulness has taken center stage.

Bird is curious, happy, playful and is respectfully interested in other dogs. And doesn’t she just look adorable with her new ‘do? 🤩

Her foster reports, “She seems comfortable around other dogs. Most of the time she and our senior dog simply coexist and do their own thing. Bird occasionally shows interest in playing, but our senior dog generally prefers her own space, so we haven’t seen much actual play between them.

We haven’t tested her with cats.

The dog she ran with at the park was a one-year-old puppy. I think she tends to observe first, and if another dog shows interest in her or invites her to play, she’s more likely to engage.

She was running around with other dogs today and having a great time. She also just started playing with toys today. Such a playful girl! 😊”

Check out her playing in the video in the comments section.

Apply at tarashouse.org if she’s your kind of fun. (No kids under 16 in the home please.)
