Time for a 🪼Jellyfish🪼Pupdate!

From foster mom:
“Ms. Jelly has been a very good girl and even earned herself a doggy ice cream cup this weekend. 🍦🤎

“She has full nighttime freedom and typically chooses to sleep on the couch. During the day, if the humans are home she has access to two levels of the house, although she always chooses to be wherever I am. 😂

“And we’ve had a BIG win with workdays: no more crate fussies! 🎉 When the humans leave for work, she now goes into her crate and settles quickly and calmly. She’s really starting to understand that this is her routine and, most importantly, that we always come back.

“Overall, she is so much more relaxed, and SO silly. Yesterday, I was working downstairs with the whole pack while Foster Dad did some housework, and Jelly had a hoot.

“She took out every single toy from the treasure chest. Approximately 30 toys. 😂 a full day’s work for a toy inspector.

“Her foster brothers tried to tell her it was time for a nap. Jelly said, “You only live once.”

“We’re continuing to work on paws down for greetings, fewer unauthorized grass snacks on walkies, and structured rest periods on days when the humans are home.”

Happy ADOPTION DAY to Gizmo!!

Just look at this wonderful family/pack that he gets to join! And they’re just a hop, skip and a jump away from foster mom and dad (and already good friends) so the Giz-man will have lots of support and love from his foster bridge to a happily-ever-after days. Whoohoo!

Speaking of cute, small, non-bully dogs…

MAISIE 🩷 had a fun outing with her little foster pack and we thought it was worth highlighting her perfect little self.

✅Young, but not annoyingly puppy😉

It’s been a day since we posted a mini poodle who is in a partner shelter and needs a foster to become a Tara’s House dog. Yes he’s cute and small, but the excitement he’s stirred up blinded many to the information contained in the post.

- he’s not available for adoption (yet we are getting adoption applications)
- you have to apply to foster (not just comment, DM or email)
- you have to live in our adoption area (posted on our page AND in the post, yet emails and apps from FAR and WIDE are arriving, including AUSTRALIA)
- we don’t know much about this guy and what we do know is in the post

Look, we get it. Not everyone wants a larger dog or one that looks like it is a bully mix. That’s fine. But if you are applying for a dog that’s not even with our rescue yet - or are out of our area - or are asking questions that have been already answered because you don’t have time to read the post, then please don’t be offended if you don’t get a response. The amount of time it would take for us to reply to the volume would be detrimental to the dogs we DO have in our care.

And not for nothing, we DO have other small and medium dogs that are cute and not bully mixes actually IN our rescue foster homes already that we know TONS of information about. You can check them out on tarashouse.org.

We are looking for a foster so we can pull him from the shelter and everything we know about him is in the post or has been asked and answered in the comments. He is not available for adoption at this point, as he’s not even our dog yet.

We have another ask…
This very cute wookie was adopted twice and returned twice from the shelter. Both were VERY short adoptions. Given this record, we were asked if we could find a more suitable home that wouldn’t bounce him around like an 18 lb poofy football.

So we are asking if anyone could step up to foster this 2 year old mini-poodle mix so he can be a Tara’s House dog?

He has been described as acting scared, with lots of nervous barking while in the shelter, with high-energy and puppy behavior (nippy??). He is jumpy and wants attention. He walked by other dogs with tail wagging, but we don’t know how he is in a home with them (or cats or kids.) We don’t know if he’s housebroken or how much of his nervous and jumpy/barky/nippy? behavior is due to stress induced by being in a shelter or tossed between two different adoptive homes in rapid succession, but we do know he’s cute, young and will benefit from stability and training.

He was recently neutered and had only 1 day in the second home to convalesce before being returned. ☹️

Another one of our long-timers has some happy news to share. 🥳 He didn’t actually take 243 days to find his furever home - because he was in it the whole time! Happy foster fail to BRUNO’S savior and foster-mom turned just-plain-mom and HAPPY TAILS to this very good boy!

Mixed breed dogs like Bruno (and Flash, and so many others waiting in rescues and in shelters) are really in a tight spot these days of animal overpopulation. They take longer to catch someone’s eye. They may not have the squished-face or “designer” colors that are popular with so many, but they are no less deserving of a good home and they bring so much love and happiness to them when they find one. 🏡

So congratulations to YOU, Bruno. You did great finding your person. Now go forth, be good, and live a happy life! 😘

Flash is a husky-pit mix who is a little over a year old. Professionally trained. Soft. Cuddly. Smart. Athletic. Will test boundaries. She needs a fenced yard but is ready to go home with you N-O-W!

Jellyfish 🪼 would like everyone to know that she’s gained TWENTY-FIVE (25!) pounds since she was found as a stray in early July. She is blossoming and feels sooooo good!

Believed to be a purebred Rottie, she is currrently 72lbs and about a year old. We don’t know exactly how much bigger she will get, but she won’t be small. 🥰 The more of her to love!

Apply for her at tarashouse.org if you want a near-perfect (we never say any dog is perfect) companion who is great with other dogs and humans over the age of 10 (her exuberance can be too much for smaller humans). She has not been cat tested.
