When someone you love begins making choices or holding beliefs that conflict with Scripture, the relationship can become difficult to navigate. You may wonder how to stay close without giving the impression that you agree.
Jesus gives us a clear picture of how to do this in Luke 15. The people gathering around Him were not living in full alignment with God’s ways, yet Jesus welcomed them and shared meals with them. His presence communicated genuine care, while His life and teaching remained completely faithful to the truth.
You can remain present with a son, daughter, grandchild, or friend who sees the world differently. Listen long enough to understand what has shaped them. Keep the relationship open and treat them with dignity while holding firmly to what Scripture teaches.
A relationship marked by genuine love can become a place where trust grows, and honest conversations are possible.
