Today we were joined by Braxton County native and familiar face to Rotary, Rebecca Brock, RN. Rebecca is one of the founders of Appalachian Angels 304, a non-profit organization from Charleston comprised of medical professionals who provide medical care through local initiatives and international medical mission trips.
Rebecca, daughter of Rotarian Dr. Kenna Seal, presented on the AA’s most recent medical mission trip to the Philippines where a team of medical professionals from Charleston collaborated with local groups and medical resources in three areas of the Philippines providing life-changing medical care to over 2,200 patients in need.
At the end of her presentation, Braxton County Rotary President, Krisey Riley, along with Rotarian Sydney Frame, presented Appalachian Angels with a donation for their upcoming medical mission trip to Bolivia. In addition, Evelyn Post, longtime friend of the Braxton County Rotary, who attended the presentation, matched the club’s donation to the cause. We are are forever grateful to the many people who make opportunities like this possible for our community, and those in need abroad.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for this wonderful organization, you do not need to be a medical professional. They are always in need of people who just want to do good things. Visit Appalachian Angels 304 for more information or to get involved!
