Does anyone know of an affordable vet who can do basic exams and evaluations on cats/kittens? This would be for friendly strays or kittens outside that need an exam before bringing them into a home or rescue.

36 cats were fixed at Humane Society and 2 at another clinic today. Thank you to all the dedicated trappers, a dedicated check-in volunteer and these two clinics and their staff who make this possible. We are on round two of pregnancies. 😿

Sassy Cats is in dire need of experienced trappers. Most of our cases are in the west valley. We do not trap trailer parks, apartments or behind large businesses. We focus on the smaller cases with one feeder. We priorize those in the most need such as the elderly, veterans and those with physical challenges. We also assist others who are more capable and willing to assist with the trapping process.

Most trappers go on line looking for cases or if they are like me, they get a constant stream of calls and texts from people who I have helped in the past or who are referred to me. I uderstand this but Sassy Cats is a very small operation who also needs more than myself and the few volunteers so we can assist more people in need What are we lookig for in a volunteer? We need "full service" trappers which means the following:

You have traps or can use Sassy Cat traps
You have a vehicle and are willing to transport cats.
You are able and willing to go to the trapping location and stay there while the cats are trapped (of course there are exceptions)
You are willing to do the necessary prep work of informing any feeders of when they need to stop feeing, etc.
You are able to overnight cats and transport to the clinic
You are able to overnight recover cats and release them

We are also grateful to accept portions of these things but we have found that the majority of the time we need to do everything for the people who cannot help themselves. This also decreases stress in ensurig cats get trapped and no appointment goes unfilled.

If you can help, even just occasionally, please let me know. I try to make it as easy as possible by location, your schedule etc. Thank you to all those out there who have helped Sassy Cats. We are so grateful.

We are getting overwhelmed with requests for help since I posted about our last clinics. The reason we were successful is because most of the kitties were trapped and transported by dedicated trappers. There were also a few caring individuals as well. Sassy Cats is a very small organization with only a few volunteers, including myself. We also operate on a very small budget. We cannot trap apartment complexes, trailer parks, parks, or large colonies by businesses. We can help those who feed small colonies, can participate in the process of trapping, transporting, aftercare and most importantly fundraising. We also only do TNR in the west valley but not way out in places like Surprise, Sun City, El Mirage, etc. If you reach out, I will try to respond to each person with some possible solutions or with possible ways we can help you. I wish we were the Humane Society or a huge organization full of volunteers and money, but we are not and we do the best we possibly can with our resources and our few volunteers. Thank you for understanding.

43 of these cats at Humane Society and 7 at Altered Tails were spayed/neutered today for a total of 50. Thank you for the donors to Sassy Cats TNR. Thank you AZ Humane Society, Altered Tails, to all he dedicated trappers and transporters (2 from Buckeye). Some trappers paid out of their own pocket, some could not pay and some were subsidized by Sassy Cats TNR thanks to our donors. A lot of suffering was prevented today. ADLA did a great job today as well helping many cats. This is a challenging time for TNR but we will keep up the fight. πŸ˜»πŸ™

Attention trappers: I am trying to locate missing Sassy Cat traps. They are the brown TruCatch traps. They were loaned out from a trap depot in South Scottsdale. They have a Sassy Cat label on them. They are numbered 80-94. We would like to get these traps back into our depots as there is high demand for them. If you have one of these traps please contact me or post below. If you are at clinics with cats, please look for these traps when people bring in cats. We are here to loan traps out for TNR but it is a problem when they are not returned. Thank you. Hoping to recover them asap.

Thank you to everyone who has donated to this so far. I have not been posting photos lately but you can be assured that we are fixing a lot of cats. If you still want to help us out we have a few more days. I will use this precious money to help those people that need help the most. I use every dollar strictly for TNR and I use it in the most wise way possible. Thank you all!

For informational purposes: These two feral pregnant cats were taken to the Spay Neuter Clinic in Glendale. The caregiver brought them there because it is convenient to the far west side. Unfortunately, she does not have much money and walked out paying $370.80! This is why Sassy Cats does not support this clinic. We are now helping this caregiver get appointments at another clinic. She could have fixed 7.4 pregnant females for the same price. Please think of more than just location when choosing a clinic. We are out of or critically short of money in TNR organizations across the valley. Let’s fix as many as possible please. πŸ™
