Shelter From The Storm Ministries Shelter From the Storm Ministries helps homeless children and their single mothers by providing a safe, supportive home.

Through 6–12 months of care and programming, we empower families to heal, grow, and move into stable, independent lives. In the winter of 2011, a group of people, representing five different churches, were made aware of the fact that Sun Prairie School District was registering homeless children into their schools. Our group, Shelter from the Storm Ministries, has been meeting since then to seek th

e will of God to connect resources to this growing problem. As we walk next to those facing homelessness, we realize the challenges of finding housing and other struggles We also realize that through mentoring and teaching, life skills can be learned and second chances are possible.

A huge thank you to Justin, a member of our Board of Directors, his two sons, and Isaiah for spending their time at Shelter from the Storm Ministries assembling our new bunk beds!

These beds were made possible through the generosity of the Burn Boot Camp fundraiser, and because of volunteers like this, they are now ready to welcome families in need.

🚗 Motors 4 Moms: We Need Your Help! 🚗

One of the biggest barriers our moms face on their journey toward independence is reliable transportation.

A vehicle isn't just a way to get from point A to point B. It's the ability to get to work, attend classes, make doctor's appointments, get children to daycare, and build a stable future.

Through our Motors 4 Moms Program, donated vehicles are gifted to deserving moms who have worked hard to achieve program goals and are ready for the next step toward self-sufficiency.

Right now, we are in desperate need of donated vehicles.

If you have a car, truck, or van that is safe, reliable, and no longer needed, please consider donating it to help change a family's future. Even older vehicles can make a life-changing difference for a mom working to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness.

We had the privilege of celebrating the completion of another incredible year with our Business Leadership Academy (BLA) students from Sun Prairie East High School & Sun Prairie West High School's!

Pictured with us are Rebecca Ketelsen from the Sun Prairie Education Foundation (SPEF) and the outstanding students who partnered with Shelter from the Storm Ministries throughout the year. Their hard work, creativity, and dedication culminated in a final presentation filled with valuable insights and recommendations that will help us strengthen our mission and better serve single mothers and their children.

A special thank you to the Sun Prairie Education Foundation, the Sun Prairie School District, the dedicated teachers who make this program possible, and the BLA students for investing your time, talents, and energy into our organization. Opportunities like this not only provide students with real-world experience but also create meaningful impact for local nonprofits.

💙 God is writing a beautiful story, and we are humbled to be part of it.

We are thrilled to announce that Boomerangs Resale Store, a ministry of Door Creek Church, has selected Shelter from the Storm Ministries as a community partner and has committed an incredible donation to our Match the Match Campaign for our year-end fundraiser!

What makes this gift even more special is the story behind it.

As Boomerangs co-managers Lori and Cortney prayed about where God was leading them to share the proceeds from the store, they continually felt drawn back to Shelter from the Storm Ministries. At the very same time, Connie and Lily were praying about who God would have them approach to help launch this year's campaign.

Before a single ask was made, Lori reached out to us.

What a powerful reminder that when God's people listen and respond, He brings the right people together at the right time.

This generous gift will be available to match donations during our Match the Match Campaign, doubling the impact of every dollar given and helping us provide housing, hope, and transformation for single mothers and their children.
