❤️ SUMTER - TUESDAY, OCTOBER 20 | 5:30 PM YOUR ATTENDANCE MATTERS. PLEASE WEAR RED! 🔴

Sumter Angels Animal Advocates is calling on our community to show up for animal welfare at the next City of Sumter City Council Meeting on:

📅 Tuesday, October 20, 2026
⏰ 5:30 PM
📍 City Council Chambers, 4th Floor, Sumter Opera House
📍 21 N. Main St., Sumter, SC 29150

Please plan to arrive early!

❤️🐾 HERE'S WHAT WE NEED YOU TO KNOW: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SPEAK!

Let me say that again for the people who may be nervous about attending a council meeting:
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GET UP AND SPEAK.

You do not have to prepare a speech.
You do not have to stand before a microphone.
You do not have to be comfortable with public speaking.

You simply have to SHOW UP.

Your presence in that room matters. A room filled with concerned citizens wearing red sends a powerful message that animal welfare matters to this community. It shows our elected officials that people are paying attention, that we care about the animals who depend on us, and that we want to see meaningful action and support for animal welfare in Sumter.

🔴 WEAR RED for animal welfare!

Red is our way of showing solidarity. When our community comes together, our collective presence speaks volumes - even when not a single person says a word.

📣 For those who DO wish to speak:

The third-Tuesday meeting includes the official “Comments by City Citizens” public forum. Please be aware of these requirements:

🐾 Public comments are limited to verified residents of the City of Sumter.
📃 You must complete the physical sign-in sheet in the lobby of the Council Chambers before the meeting begins.
🕰 The City Clerk collects the sign-in sheet at 5:20 PM, ten minutes before the meeting starts, to verify residency within city limits.
⏳️ Public comments are strictly limited to three minutes per speaker.

If you live outside the City of Sumter, you can still help make a difference by attending and wearing red and also by sharing this post, encouraging concerned citizens to attend, and spreading the word about the importance of animal welfare.

❤️ THIS IS ABOUT MORE THAN ONE MEETING. IT'S ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY, OUR VALUES, AND THE ANIMALS WHO HAVE NO VOICE IN THE DECISIONS THAT AFFECT THEIR LIVES.

Animal welfare is a community issue. The need for responsible animal care, accessible resources, prevention, and meaningful support affects all of us.

And remember: You do NOT have to speak. Just being there and wearing red speaks volumes. ❤️🐾

We cannot expect change if we never show up. We cannot expect our concerns to be heard if our community remains invisible.

You may think one person sitting in that room won't make a difference. But what happens when 10 people show up? What about 25? What about 50 concerned citizens, all wearing red, united by a shared concern for animal welfare?

THAT is how we show our community that this matters.

🙏 Please share this post. Tag your friends, family, and fellow animal advocates. Invite someone to come with you. Make plans now to be there.

Let's fill those seats, show our support, and remind our local leaders that animal welfare deserves a place at the table.

With compassion and commitment,

Sumter Angels Animal Advocates 🐾
Compassion Before Crisis.

🚨 GOOD MORNING, YOU IRRESPONSIBLE, DOG-DUMPING, BACKYARD-BREEDING SACKS OF DISAPPOINTMENT. DISRESPECTFULLY , GOOMBA. 🖕🐾

Good morning, motherf**kers. ☀️

It’s me. Goomba. Your favorite angry little as***le with four legs, a criminal record of bad decisions, and absolutely ZERO patience for the human species today.

TODAY’S LESSON: RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP. SOMETHING AN ALARMING NUMBER OF YOU APPARENTLY THINK IS OPTIONAL.

Let me explain something to the intellectually underfunded population.

A DOG IS NOT A FU***NG DISPOSABLE HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE.

You don’t get to throw it away because it became inconvenient. You don’t get to trade it in because it developed behavioral issues YOU NEVER BOTHERED TO ADDRESS. And you certainly don’t get to act like the victim because the living, breathing animal you brought into your home requires TIME, MONEY, TRAINING, AND EFFORT.

WHAT THE F**K DID YOU THINK YOU WERE ADOPTING? A THROW PILLOW WITH A HEARTBEAT?!

When you bring home a dog, you’re signing up for a 10–15 YEAR COMMITMENT. Sometimes longer.

Not 30 days.

Not until you get a new boyfriend.

Not until you have a baby.

Not until you move.

Not until the dog chews your $37 Target curtains because you couldn’t be bothered to teach it how to exist in your house.

TEN. TO. FIFTEEN. FU***NG. YEARS.

And before somebody starts violently typing their sob story, YES, sometimes life genuinely happens. People lose their homes. People become seriously ill. Financial disasters happen. Sometimes rehoming is genuinely the safest, kindest decision for the animal.

THAT IS NOT WHO I’M TALKING ABOUT.

I’m talking about the people who adopt a dog and SIX WEEKS LATER are posting, “Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we need to rehome…”

UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES?!

BRIDGET, THE DOG IS STILL A DOG. WHAT EXACTLY DID YOU NOT FORESEE?!

That it would bark? S**t? Shed? Need exercise? Require training? HAVE FEELINGS?!

Then we’ve got the people who get a shiny new puppy and suddenly their older dog becomes yesterday’s garbage.

OH LOOK! A BRAND-NEW FLUFFY LITTLE POTATO! 😍

Guess we don’t need the eight-year-old dog who loved us unconditionally anymore!

WHAT IN THE ABSOLUTE F**K IS WRONG WITH YOU?!

And don’t even get me started on the senior dogs.

Because THIS ONE makes me want to chew through drywall.

People will drag their elderly dog into a loud, terrifying shelter, request euthanasia because they’re old or inconvenient, hand the leash to a complete stranger, and WALK THE F**K AWAY.

That dog spent its entire life loving you.

You were its whole world.

And in its final moments, you couldn’t even give it the dignity of being there?

Then some of these absolute moral sewage systems turn around and start looking for a PUPPY.

YOU DON’T NEED ANOTHER DOG. YOU NEED A FU***NG CONSCIENCE.

And while we’re discussing excuses, let me ask a question.

How many of you plan on rehoming your children when they become teenagers and start acting like little as***les?

“Unfortunately, Timmy has developed some behavioral issues, refuses to listen, and keeps destroying the house. Free to good home. Comes with an Xbox.”

SOUNDS RIDICULOUS, DOESN’T IT?!

THEN WHY IS THAT YOUR FIRST SOLUTION WHEN YOUR DOG BECOMES DIFFICULT?!

RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP MEANS DOING THE FU***NG WORK.

It means training your dog.

It means advocating for your dog.

It means understanding your dog’s individual needs instead of expecting every dog to fit your imaginary Pinterest lifestyle.

It means making compromises.

It means recognizing that some behavioral problems require professional help, medical evaluations, patience, management, and consistency.

IT MEANS SOMETIMES BEING INCONVENIENCED.

HOLY S**T. WHAT A CONCEPT.

Your dog doesn’t like strangers? Stop forcing strangers into its face.

Your dog can’t handle dog parks? STOP GOING TO DOG PARKS.

Your dog has separation anxiety? GET HELP AND DEVELOP A PLAN.

Your dog doesn’t like your new boyfriend? Well, personally, I’d investigate the boyfriend, but THAT’S JUST ME. 💅

And if you’re struggling financially, THERE ARE RESOURCES. Pet food pantries, veterinary assistance programs, low-cost clinics, rescue organizations, and community support.

Not every resource will be available to everyone, but at least TRY to find help before treating your dog like a broken microwave.

AND NOW LET’S DISCUSS THE BACKYARD BREEDING CIRCUS. 🎪

SPAY. AND. NEUTER. YOUR. FU***NG. PETS.

Especially your cats, because the number of unwanted kittens entering shelters is absolutely heartbreaking.

If you’re not an ethical, knowledgeable breeder working to preserve and improve an established breed through health testing, responsible selection, and lifelong accountability for the puppies you produce, WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU DOING?!

And no, Chrissy, producing your 47th litter of Merle Double Chocolate Caramel Doodle-Dip F**kadoodles does not make you a preservation breeder.

IT MAKES YOU A PERSON WITH A CASH APP AND A DOG WITH A UTERUS.

Your dog is not your personal ATM.

Your dog’s reproductive organs are not a retirement account.

And just because you lack the ambition to develop an actual marketable skill doesn’t mean your female dog needs to spend her life pumping out puppies so you can afford another fu***ng lifted truck.

STOP USING ANIMALS AS YOUR BACKYARD PIGGY BANK.

Ethical breeding is about preserving a breed, not manufacturing whatever overpriced genetic smoothie happens to be trending on TikTok.

And FINALLY, to the people adopting rescue dogs:

Some of these dogs have already been abandoned, neglected, bounced between homes, lived in shelters, and experienced more instability than most of you could handle in a lifetime.

They FINALLY get a home.

They start learning a routine.

They begin trusting someone.

And two months later, you decide they’re too much work.

SO BACK THEY GO.

Another broken routine. Another lost attachment. Another unfamiliar environment. Another round of stress because you couldn’t be bothered to put in the effort.

STOP MAKING PROMISES TO ANIMALS YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO INTENTION OF KEEPING.

Responsible pet ownership isn’t about being perfect. Nobody expects perfection.

It’s about showing up when things get difficult.

It’s about accepting that your animal is a living creature with needs, emotions, and limitations.

It’s about doing everything reasonably within your power to give that animal a safe, stable, loving life.

And if you genuinely cannot provide that, finding a safe, appropriate home is responsible. Dumping the dog on the first available stranger because you’re annoyed is NOT.

YOUR DOG IS A LIFETIME RESPONSIBILITY. NOT A TEMPORARY ACCESSORY UNTIL YOUR NEXT LIFE UPDATE.

Anyway, I’m Goomba.

I’m a sanctuary dog with an attitude problem, an extensive list of personal boundaries, and absolutely no interest in becoming a productive member of society.

And even MY ASS understands commitment.

Amanda has to put up with my bu****it for the rest of my life.

THAT’S WHAT SHE SIGNED UP FOR. 🖕🤣

Good morning.

Train your fu***ng dogs. Fix your damn fences. Spay and neuter your pets. Stop breeding for b**r money. And for the love of all things holy, STOP TREATING LIVING ANIMALS LIKE DISPOSABLE GARBAGE.

GOOMBA OUT. 🎤💥

IMPORTANT LOGISTICAL UPDATE: October Pet Pantry Dates Moving to Next Weekend!

Hello Everyone,

We want to provide an important update regarding our upcoming Pet Pantry distribution. Due to a pre-planned travel schedule and the intense timeline of adjusting this week, our organization is executing an executive pivot and moving our October distribution back by exactly one week.

🗓️ REVISED SCHEDULE:

• Pet Pantry Event: Next Saturday, October 24

Shifting our operation by one week keeps us perfectly clear of holiday scheduling conflicts later in the month and gives us the perfect opportunity to address a major priority: restocking our pet food supply! We are currently low on inventory and desperately need bulk donations to serve our community pet families in need next weekend.

📦 OUR CRITICAL NEEDS:
• Dog Food: High-protein adult dry kibble and puppy food formula
• Cat Food: Dry cat kibble (bags of Meow Mix are a massive help) and kitten food formula

Bulk bags can be purchased easily at BJ’s or Walmart (WM link in bio). You may also purchase from Amazon and have it shipped directly to us with zero hassle (message for address)! If you have been looking for a way to support our community babies, now is the time to do so.

Thank you all so much for your incredible, ongoing understanding and support. Let’s work together to fully restock our pantry over the next 8 days!

Kindest,
Sumter Angels Animal Advocates 🐾❤️

❤️🐾 TONIGHT, LET’S SHOW UP FOR THE ANIMALS OF SUMTER COUNTY!🐾❤️

📣 Sumter Angels Animal Advocacy Group is calling on our community to stand together and make our voices heard!

Tonight is the Sumter County Council Meeting, and we need animal advocates to show up, stand united, and remind our local leaders that animal welfare matters!

🐾 📅 TONIGHT — Tuesday, October 13th
⏰ 6:00 PM
📍 Sumter County Administration Building
13 East Canal Street, Sumter, SC
County Council Chambers — 3rd Floor

❤️ WEAR RED FOR ANIMAL ADVOCACY!❤️

Whether you're a longtime advocate, a concerned pet owner, a rescuer, or simply someone who believes animals deserve protection, WE NEED YOU!

Every voice matters. Every person who shows up makes a difference. The more of us who stand together, the harder it becomes to ignore the need for stronger animal welfare efforts in our community.

Our animals cannot speak for themselves, so we must be their voices. We must stand up for those who are neglected, abused, abandoned, and left without protection. Change starts when ordinary people come together for a cause that matters.

You don't have to be part of an organization to make a difference. You just have to care enough to show up. ❤️

🐾 Join Sumter Angels Animal Advocacy Group in the fight for better animal welfare! Bring a friend, wear your red, and help us show Sumter County that our animals deserve a community willing to stand up for them.

📢 SHARE THIS POST! TAG A FRIEND! LET'S FILL THE ROOM WITH ANIMAL ADVOCATES!

Together, we can make a difference — one voice, one meeting, and one paw at a time. 🐾❤️

Make sure your pets are part of your disaster plan. They depend solely on you for their care. 🐾❤️🐕🐩🐈🐈‍⬛️🐰🐎🌀

The best time to prepare for a disaster is before a storm is on the way.

September is National Preparedness Month and also peak hurricane season, so the ASPCA has teamed up with Miami-Dade Animal Services to share simple steps pet owners can take now to prepare for severe weather.

When a hurricane threatens, having a plan that includes your pets can help your entire family act quickly and stay safe.
