πŸ’™πŸ’› YEAR TWO… LET’S GO, EDS! πŸ’›πŸ’™

Today, the Epsilon Delta Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated came together for our 2026–2027 Chapter Retreat, and the energy was EVERYTHING!

Led by our Basileus, Soror Tonya Rankins, we took time to reflect on the EXTRAORDINARY impact of our first year back, celebrate what we accomplished together, learn even more about one another, laughed, planned, and set our sights on the work ahead.

We are excited and ready for another year of Greater Service, Greater Progress, and continued growth throughout the communities we serve.

And to everyone who supported Epsilon Delta Sigma during our first year and continues to believe in the work we are doing, THANK YOU! Your support, partnerships, encouragement, and generosity help make our service possible.

EDS Year Two is officially underway… and we’re just getting started!

ONE YEAR REACTIVATED. ONE EXTRAORDINARY YEAR.

August marks one year since the reactivation of the Epsilon Delta Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. On August 7, 2025, Epsilon Delta Sigma returned after more than 25 years of dormancy, restoring Sigma Gamma Rho’s chapter presence across Sumter, Clarendon, Lee, and Kershaw Counties.

And what an extraordinary first year it has been! ✨

From rebuilding our chapter foundation to reconnecting with the communities we serve, Epsilon Delta Sigma has spent its first year showing up, serving, building relationships, and making our presence known.

Year One was about rebuilding, reconnecting, and reintroducing Epsilon Delta Sigma to the communities we serve.

Now, we step into Year Two ready to build on that foundation.

Happy Reactivation Anniversary, Epsilon Delta Sigma!

Never Basic. Always Extraordinary.

πŸ’™πŸ’› LOOK WHAT YOU HELPED US DO! πŸ’›πŸ’™

What started as a call to support Operation Big Book Bag became a summer of service reaching across four counties!

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, community partners, and supporters, the Epsilon Delta Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. raised nearly $2,500 to help students start the school year prepared and ready to succeed.

Together, we turned your generosity into IMPACT:

4 Counties: Sumter, Clarendon, Lee & Kershaw
5 Community Events
Nearly 1,000 Students & Families Reached
Hundreds of School & Hygiene Supplies Distributed
Community and Divine Nine partnerships strengthened

From scissors for our youngest learners in Kershaw County, to school supplies at Lee Central Elementary, to hundreds of families served in Sumter County, to back sacks filled with school and hygiene essentials for students in Clarendon County, your support traveled with us every step of the way.

And perhaps our favorite part? We didn’t do it alone. Throughout the summer, we had the opportunity to serve alongside community organizations, schools, first responders, local agencies, and members of the Divine Nine. That is what community looks like.

To every person who donated, shared our campaign, partnered with us, volunteered, or encouraged our efforts:

THANK YOU.

Every notebook. Every pencil. Every crayon. Every pair of scissors. Every back sack.

You helped put it there.

This is Greater Service, Greater Progress in action.

πŸ’™πŸ’› LEVEL UP: Learn. Lead. Launch! πŸ’›πŸ’™

What a wonderful morning of community, collaboration, and commitment to our youth!

The Epsilon Delta Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was proud to participate in the 2026 Youth Summit at Manning High School, where students gathered for a day designed to empower, encourage, and prepare them for the school year ahead.

The summit featured dynamic speakers and engaging, interactive presentations that challenged students to think about academics, leadership, mental wellness, personal growth, and the endless possibilities ahead of them. And of course, there was plenty of music, food, fellowship, and fun along the way!

Our sorors were especially excited to provide students with back sacks filled with school supplies and personal hygiene products, helping them head into the new school year prepared and confident.

And once again, we loved seeing the Divine Nine show up together! The collaboration among Divine Nine organizations, community partners, presenters, vendors, and volunteers was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when we bring our collective resources together for our young people.

Because when the community comes together, our youth win. πŸ’«

πŸ’™πŸ’› Serving Our Communities, One Backpack at a Time! πŸ’›πŸ’™

Sorors of the Epsilon Delta Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. were honored to support our community partner, Kershaw County First Steps, during National Night Out in Kershaw County!

This incredible evening brought together law enforcement, first responders, community organizations, and families for a celebration of safety, unity, and fun. We were especially excited to stand alongside members of the Divine Nine in Kershaw County as we worked together to serve our community. There was something for everyone, from Touch-a-Truck displays and emergency vehicles to delicious food trucks, bubbles, and activities that kept families smiling all evening long.

Our chapter was proud to help provide school supplies to local students as they prepare for a successful school year. Every backpack filled and every child encouraged is another step toward building stronger communities through collaboration and service.

A heartfelt thank you to Kershaw County First Steps, the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office, and all of the agencies and organizations that made this event such a success. Together, we are making a difference, one child, one family, and one community at a time.
