For those who celebrate, tomorrow is "GIVING TUESDAY," an event that started in 2012 and spread to over 90 countries to inspire people to volunteer, perform acts of kindness, and support nonprofits and community causes.
If you're among those who observe the day and wonder where to contribute, consider the state registered, 501c3 nonprofit that organizes the WHITE GABLES L.UMINARIA.
It's an entirely volunteer, separate and independent of your HOA. and created to sustain the neighborhood tradition that
-- Creates something beautiful to celebrate the season,
-- Demonstrates what can happen when folks work together,
-- Honors lost neighbors and loved ones, and
-- Helps neighbors in need.
Since its 2018 charter, with the help of residents, friends, and area businesses, the group distributed almost $48,000 to dozens of area individuals and families and much more than that since it started 20 years ago.

White Gables Luminaria is an annual community tradition to bring neighbors together and raise funds to help people in need. Neighbors exchange donations for lantern kits, donate and bid on auction items, and solicit sponsorships of common areas. Our streets our lined with lanterns as neighbors walk....
