Brown Baggers Fun Run-Sullivan County

We want to give a sincere thank you to everyone who sponsored, participated, or donated to the Brown Baggers Fun Run this year! This year we raised roughly $2000! The way the churches, businesses, and individuals in this community come together to support children in need is truly inspirational and is exactly why we started this project.

We would also like to give a special thank you to Jay Beuthe who was our cheerleader for the run! (Pictured in slide 2 and 3)

This year we included Matthew 25:31-40 on the back of our shirts as a representation of what our mission is, and we would like to explain what that means to us. In Sullivan County we have so many incredible people, businesses, and charitable organizations. However, we felt that the division we saw in our community was disheartening. Seeing churches torn apart, friends turned against each other, and political slander in our small town was something that didn't sit right with us. So we felt called to make something that could unite people for good. And that's where Matthew 25:31-40 comes in, no matter what religious denomination you are, political background you have, or any other group you may subscribe to we all believe that no kid should go hungry and that we should help those in need. Supporting a staple of our community like the Brown Baggers is exactly what we believed could bring people together and we believe this has done that. 5+ preachers have collaborated, 10+ businesses have supported, and 150+ individuals have attended to make this event happen over the last two years and that is exactly why we continue to do this. So in total we understand that there will always be division in our community, but we hope that your interactions with one another through this event can help you find common ground in a time that it is so easy to isolate.

So, with that being said, we want to say thank you one last time for your support and we look forward to seeing you next year!

One last reminder that the Brown Baggers Fun Run is TOMORROW MORNING with check in starting at 9:30. We have lots of fun events planned and we are super excited to see everyone. We do have a few additional notes beforehand to ensure that the run goes smoothly:
-We understand tomorrow is an incredibly busy/exciting day for Sullivan County. With the baseball team going to Semi-State, the Plaza Palooza directly following the run, and other events occurring in Sullivan we wanted to give a time-frame that can help you determine how to manage your day.
The actual run will not start until 9:45, so anyone wanting to attend the send off for the baseball team will have lots of time to stop by after if they would like to participate. In addition the run will be completed by 10:15 and runners are allowed/encouraged to stay after and enjoy the slushies, corn hole, and Foam Homies at the Civic Center.
We are so excited to see how the Lord will work in our community. THANK YOU to everyone who is planning to attend, and who has supported us and SEE you tomorrow!

A few updates that we thought we should clarify as the Brown Baggers Fun Run approaches:

Sponsorship: If you would like to be a sponsor of the Fun Run it is $50 per sign. With this you receive a yard sign (that will be located at the Civic Center) with your choice of name to display. This is open to businesses and individuals! Contact Samuel Fathauer (812-564-4499) for interest in sponsorship!

T-Shirts: If you would like a complementary T-Shirt with your purchase of a ticket then make sure to sign-up by May 21st! While you can sign-up until the day of the run, we will only be giving T-Shirts to those who sign up by May 21st.

Best ways to support: We often get asked what the best support options are and there are a few incredibly helpful options:

1) Follow our Facebook/Instagram pages and share our posts!

2) Running/Walking isn't for you? Consider joining our team of volunteers!

3) Keep the Brown Baggers and our event in your prayers!
