The Brothers of Upsilon Xi Sigma were doing double duty in the community along with their Soror’s of Zeta Pi Zeta participated in Community Day at Crossroads UMC where President Doughty is clergy is residency. There brothers manned the grills, played games with children and Bro Doughty gave a healthy cooking demonstration. The Soror’s provided voter registration and face painting for all those who attended.

As Director of Bigger and Better Business, Brother Ellis proudly represented Upsilon Xi Sigma as the chapter was recognized by the City of Suffolk for its contributions to the Keep Suffolk Clean Program initiative during the 2026 Awards Banquet.

Let us truly remember what this day means.

It’s more than cookouts, gatherings, and a long weekend. It’s about honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice and never made it back home to their families.

As a veteran, I salute every fallen soldier — those lost in war, and those gone but never forgotten. Their courage, service, and sacrifice gave many of us the freedoms we enjoy today.

Take a moment this weekend to reflect, pray, and remember their names, their families, and their legacy. Freedom came with a price, and many paid it in full.

To all our fallen heroes — we honor you, we remember you, and we thank you.

Due to forecasted inclement weather, the Colon Cancer Walk originally scheduled for May 23, 2026, has been postponed to October 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. While this change was unexpected, we are grateful to be able to gather together later this year with even greater purpose. In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are expanding the event into a Breast and Colon Cancer Walk. We warmly welcome all cancer survivors, as well as families and loved ones who are honoring those they have lost to cancer, to join us for this meaningful day of remembrance, support, and community.

Our hope is to make this event a powerful expression of unity, encouragement, and hope for everyone it touches. If you would like to participate as a vendor, guest speaker, or exhibitor, or if you would like to register to attend or volunteer, please use the QR code on the original flyer.
