RECREATIONAL PADDLERS SURVEY 2026
Your answers will help Paddle UK and its partners develop better safety advice and support for new and recreational paddlers.

This is a brief closure to facilitate essential repairs to the brickwork at the edge of the lock chamber. We anticipate the lock being useable on Friday 16th October from late afternoon.

Thank you to everyone who was involved with this year's Cavendish Scarecrow Festival (5-20 Sep).

This year's theme was 'Passion and Pastimes' and there was a record number of entrants with lots of creativity on display for locals and visitors to enjoy.

The Environment Agency have arranged for maintenance works at Lamarsh weir. This comprises minor repairs to the concrete gauging structure.

Date: From 21 Sep for approx. 1-2 weeks

The portages do not need to be closed during the works, but areas of the bank will be securely fenced off, and paddlers will be escorted by a banksman during working hours. There may be minor delays during some works activities.
