Suffield Samaritans We are people helping people. Shocked by the devastation of Hurricane Helene we had to do something. We will continue the effort until we don't need to anymore.

With the community's help we sent 3 truckloads of food, water, clothing and cash to TN/NC. We are just a group of people helping people. Shocked by the devastation of Hurricane Helene we wanted to do something to help. After reaching out to family and friends we were able to send 3 truckloads of food, water, winter clothing, cleaning supplies, bedding and so much more including over $7100 in cash donations! We are continuing the effort until we don't need to anymore.

Hello Samaritans!
Our next focus is to help our new friends in TN, Samantha & her son and Geoff and his family, to rebuild their homes. They need everything! Building materials, heating/AC systems, kitchen cabinets, sinks, toilets, appliances. It can seem overwhelming but one foot in front of the other and soon you are there.

Thank you for making these smiles possible!
Commander Bill Moryto, members & patrons of the VFW Post 9544 Suffield, CT for their support and use of their parking lot; Todd Emerson at Longview RV in Windsor Locks for the 2 campers; Tim Ferreira, Jr at Enterprise Truck Rental in East Granby for the 2 monster trucks that pulled the campers; Linda & Mark Petrucci for their generous gift of the 'tools list'; The Suffield Woman's Club for their gift cards donation; the patients of Turning Point Wellness Center for all their support and donations; and the drivers who moved appointments and gave up their holiday weekend to deliver all the above: Dr. Don Ledoux, Paul Januszewski, Dave Shute, and Angelo Marinone.
Quite often efforts behind the scenes go unnoticed. Not this time! Thank you George Fields at Suffield Hardware, Eric Corriveau at Corri Builders and John Lambert at Lambert Landscaping. Amazing work gentlemen! This weekend couldn't have happened without them!
We collected over $4300 in gift cards, $2000 in cash for gift cards and travel expenses, coats, quilts, hats, gloves, clothing and more!
This effort would not be possible without all the support from you, our community of people helping people! May you all have a happy, healthy and peace-filled new year!
The Suffield Samaritans have more ideas up their sleeves so stay tuned!

At 1:30pm the Suffield Samaritans drivers were in West Virginia and at 5:30 they were passing Pulaski, VA making good time with the trucks donated by Enterprise Truck Rental in East Granby! ETA for Newport, TN about 8:30pm.
