Teens requested more tables and chairs for studying, games, convos, and, of course, snacking and boy did the Goodnow Library Foundation deliver. Don't miss tonight's program!

As head researcher Jasmine Goodspeed writes, "There are many more suspicious elements in the foundation of the town of Sudbury, and the interactions between the Native peoples and early Sudbury inhabitants. It is not a difficult paper trail to follow, however it does require the dismantling of patriotism towards this "frontier town". In order for the town's history to be questioned, and for Indigenous perspectives to be respected, we must allow ourselves to engage Indigenous narratives with honor to the validity of our voices."

Congratulations to Amy Stimac on her appointment to Library Director at the Goodnow Library!

We are pleased to introduce Sudbury's new Goodnow Library Director, Amy Stimac. Amy (also known as Ms. Amy) has been the Head of Children’s Services at Goodnow since 2018 and comes into the Director role with a wealth of experience, local knowledge, innovative ideas and next-level creativity.

We have great news to share! Thanks to several generous donors who extended a hand, we have successfully wrapped up our mini fundraising campaign to fund new furniture for the Teen Area of the Goodnow Library!

In late 2024 the GLF committed to fund new furniture for the Teen Area, but with the input from teen library users, the project was modified, which also resulted in a higher project cost.

We are glad that the teens were able to collaborate in recreating a space for group and independent project work, and we're grateful that our generous donors helped us fully fund this important project! We look forward to sharing photos of the new furniture installation when complete!

The Civil War statue in front of the Goodnow Library gets a detailed cleaning each year, but sometimes more extensive work is necessary. Earlier this week, Buccacio Sculpture Services LLC made repairs on the statue and gave a deep clean to the statue base. The Civil War statue is maintained by the Goodnow Library Foundation through funds endowed by John Rogers Bradshaw and family.
