📅 Mark your calendars! We're partnering with the Friends of Fairy Stone State Park for Kids Fishing Day.

🎣 This hands-on experience is designed for younger anglers of all skill levels. They'll learn the basics of fishing, including how to properly cast, handle equipment and identify common fish species found in the park's waters.

📅 Saturday, June 6
🕛 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
🐟 Children 16 and under do not need a fishing license
🍽️ Lunch will be provided by the Friends of Fairy Stone State Park

Not quite ready to bait a hook? No problem! Kids can also try out our fishing simulator, a fun and safe way to experience the excitement of reeling in a catch.

We'll explore Mayo River Trail during this roughly 4-mile adventure and discuss William Byrd's exploration of the area.

Do you have a passion for nature, environmental education, and wish to make a difference? Then join us for our Friends of Fairy Stone State Park meeting. Our Friends Group is a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise money and complete volunteer projects to support the park. We are actively recruiting new members to join our Friends Group, so anyone is welcome to attend the meeting.

The once-a-month meetings include park updates from rangers, planning for future events, and a chance to hang out with other nature and history buffs. For more information about the Friends of Fairy Stone, please email [email protected].

We are thankful to be a part of such an amazing community in Patrick County, VA!

Thanks to the wonderful folks with Rotary Club of Stuart VA, Pickle & Ash, and everyone who came out last night to Pints for Parks, $1,230 was raised for the future outdoor classroom at Fairy Stone State Park!

We are honored to have been a part of the Rotary on Tap series and look forward to continuing to collaborate with them on the outdoor classroom. This space will be a great addition to FSSP and the community to cultivate outdoor education and much more.

Pickle and Ash were amazing hosts, provided the perfect space to bring everyone together for a great cause, and even donated a portion of their sales.

The Friends of Fairy Stone State Park sincerely thank everyone who supported this event and project. Stay tuned for what comes next!
