Through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s
(FDEP) Adopt-an-Island program, our chapter adopted Dinner Key Island! To keep it thriving, we host quarterly cleanups to remove plastic, debris, and marine litter.
🏝️
Why join our next island cleanup?
🚣♂️ Citizen Science: Our marine debris collection data gets submitted to FDEP to help scientists study marine debris patterns.
🚣♂️ Networking: Connect with local biologists, engineers, geologists, and environmental attorneys out in the field.
🚣♂️ Health and Wellness: Launching from downtown Coconut Grove, it’s a beautiful area to get some fresh air, a little exercise, and feel the vibrance of Biscayne Bay!
& thanks to our SFAEP member Valentina Jeng for documenting this day!
