Through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s
(FDEP) Adopt-an-Island program, our chapter adopted Dinner Key Island! To keep it thriving, we host quarterly cleanups to remove plastic, debris, and marine litter.
🏝️
Why join our next island cleanup?

🚣‍♂️ Citizen Science: Our marine debris collection data gets submitted to FDEP to help scientists study marine debris patterns.

🚣‍♂️ Networking: Connect with local biologists, engineers, geologists, and environmental attorneys out in the field.

🚣‍♂️ Health and Wellness: Launching from downtown Coconut Grove, it’s a beautiful area to get some fresh air, a little exercise, and feel the vibrance of Biscayne Bay!

& thanks to our SFAEP member Valentina Jeng for documenting this day!

Happy Earth Day from the SFAEP! 🌎🐙

Today is a reminder that the work we do matters, not just in reports and permits, but in the ecosystems we protect, restore, and advocate for every day. From wetlands and wildlife to resilient infrastructure and sustainable communities, our field plays a critical role in shaping a healthier planet.

Whether you’re out in the field, behind a desk, or volunteering in your community, thank you for being part of the effort to protect what matters most.
