To all that attended the Blue Mt Cluster
Thank you for your entries for our Pocono Mountain Kennel Club shows on Thursday and Friday and also for the other two shows included in the BLUE MT CLUSTER DOG SHOWS this past week.
We are proud to be part of the BLUE MT CLUSTER held at the beautiful Macungie Memorial Park in Macungie PA
The weather for our shows was sun, some clouds and some light amounts of drizzle during the day. We had a storm or two overnight but our show grounds stayed in great shape.
We had a nice line up in groups both days. Thursday Best in Show went to the Standard Poodle and Friday Best in Show was the Black & Tan Coonhound.
Best in Cluster went to the Boxer.
Congratulations to all the winners!
I appreciated everyone who made a point to thank us for our hard work we put into running a show as working members are few.
Everyone loves our show site and it is so sad to look under the tents after exhibitors have left for the day. Clumps and smaller pieces of dog hair from grooming, exhibitor arm bands and empty bottles scattered all over doesn't
show much respect for our grounds and creates extra work.
Putting on a show takes much planning over a year. The week of the show cluster we are preparing to make sure everything is ready to go. We start Monday night to mark out tent location. Back Tuesday morning to make sure tents are correctly placed and we mark off areas on the grounds to keep things organized. Full day there. Wednesday we prepare for our RV's to come in and need to have all paperwork in order. Finish up marking off areas, putting up signs to direct day exhibitors to parking of their choice and accept deliveries needed to have a show. There are so many other preparations we do. It is a constant go. Those that have never worked to set up a show would do not know what goes into it. It is hard work and by the end of a 4 day show cluster we are drained and exhausted only to have to pick up your garbage.
With that being said, think about how easy it would be for everyone to clean up after themselves so we can keep a beautiful show site with lots of shade trees. Is it really that hard? Do we need cameras under the tents to see who is leaving the hair and garbage when they leave? We kept our entry fees at a fair price but if they go up it will be to cover the extra expenses of those that create more work for the clubs. Maybe hire a clean up crew to clean the park to be the way it was when everyone arrived.
Thank you to all that DID take
some pride and clean up their area. Hope to see you all next year! 😊
