Christmas Assistance | Stark County

The holidays can be a beautiful time of gathering and celebration, but they can also bring very real financial pressure for individuals and families in our communities.

I’m sharing information for A Community Christmas of Stark County, which is currently accepting applications for Christmas assistance for eligible Stark County households.
The application deadline is October 30, 2026.

Both sides of the flyer/application are attached below, so please look through all of the information for eligibility requirements and instructions.

There is no shame in needing help. One of the reasons community matters is because none of us should have to navigate every difficult season alone.

For those who may not know me, I am Amber, ordained clergy and founder of Unity Church of the Sacred Circle, doing community work as Unity Circle of Earth & Spirit. I’m also building The Kinship Network, our community service and mutual-aid initiative.

Part of that work is simply helping connect people with resources that already exist throughout our communities. Sometimes service isn't creating something new. Sometimes it's making sure someone knows where to turn.

If you don't personally need this resource, please share it. Someone in your circle may need the information and may never ask for it themselves.

Thanksgiving Assistance - Stark County

As clergy, I believe care for one another is something we practice, not simply something we speak about.

The holidays can bring warmth and celebration, but they can also bring tremendous pressure when money is tight and there are still people to feed. Needing help does not diminish anyone’s dignity. Offering help does not require knowing someone’s story.

I came across this Thanksgiving assistance resource for Stark County residents and wanted to make sure it reached anyone who may need it, or anyone who knows someone who does.

Thanksgiving Baskets Downtown is offering Thanksgiving food assistance, with registration information, dates, locations, and requirements included on the attached flyer.

Please feel free to share this beyond this page. Sometimes service is preparing the meal. Sometimes it’s donating food. Sometimes it’s simply making sure the right information reaches the right person at the right moment.

May there always be room at the table, and may we keep finding ways to make room for one another.

Today the Earth arrives at one of her beautiful thresholds.

Autumn Equinox.

For a brief moment in the turning of the year, day and night stand nearly equal, and then the balance shifts. The darkness begins taking a little more of the sky.

There is something profoundly sacred in that.

Nature does not cling to summer.

The trees do not apologize for releasing their leaves. The fields do not consider themselves failures when the harvest is finished. The Earth does not resist the coming darkness as though darkness were somehow separate from life.

Everything has its season.

This is the time of harvest, yes, but harvest is more than celebrating what grew.

It is recognizing what actually came to fruition.

It is giving thanks for what sustained us.

It is gathering the wisdom from what did not grow.

And sometimes, it is finally laying down what we have carried long after its season ended.

The Equinox reminds me that balance is not a place where we permanently arrive. Balance is alive. It moves. It changes. It asks us to continually listen and adjust.

Soon the trees will become bare. Gardens will sleep. Nights will lengthen. The outward abundance of summer will retreat underground, into roots and soil and darkness.

Nothing about that darkness is empty.

Life is still there.

Perhaps that is one of Autumn’s oldest teachings: not everything sacred is blooming where we can see it.

So today I honor what has grown in my life.

I honor what did not.

I give thanks for what nourished me.

I release what has completed its season.

And I welcome the darkening year not as an ending, but as another necessary movement of the sacred cycle.

Blessed Autumn Equinox to those who celebrate.

May we know when to gather.

May we know when to give thanks.

May we know when to let go.

And may we trust the quiet things growing beneath the surface.

🌿 HELP US BUILD THE FOUNDING CIRCLE 🌿

Unity Church of the Sacred Circle, doing business as Unity Circle of Earth & Spirit, and its community outreach arm, The Kinship Network, are beginning a new season of growth.

I am looking for thoughtful, dependable people who would like to help shape what we are building, as a hands-on Founding Circle.

Areas where help is needed include:

• Spiritual gatherings, rituals, classes, and discussions
• Kinship outreach and service projects
• Events and community gatherings
• Social media and communications
• Volunteer coordination
• Community partnerships and fundraising ideas
• Administrative and organizational support

You do not need to do everything or have a perfect resume. I am looking for people who believe in inclusive spiritual community, meaningful connection, compassionate service, and people helping people, and who can realistically follow through on what they agree to do.

Many of you know us as Unity Circle of Earth & Spirit, but you may not know how everything fits together.

Unity Church of the Sacred Circle is the name under which we are registered with the State of Ohio. We do business publicly as Unity Circle of Earth & Unity Circle of Earth and Spirit, our spiritual community, welcoming people from many paths to explore ritual, healing, Earth-rooted spirituality, personal growth, and meaningful connection.

The Kinship Network is our community outreach and mutual-support arm. It carries our values beyond spiritual conversation and into practical service: neighbors connecting, sharing resources, offering support, and helping one another with dignity.

Unity tends the spirit. Kinship puts compassion into motion.

One foundation. Two expressions. A growing circle of connection, belonging, and service.

I’m in the final stretch, closing is done, and the move is right around the corner.

This has been more than just a move. It’s been a transition in how I live, how I hold space, and how I show up in my work as clergy.

I don’t have everything mapped out yet, and I’m okay with that.

What I do know is that something new is taking shape. Slower, more intentional, and rooted in real life.

I’ll share more once I’m settled.

A personal milestone and a reminder for anyone rebuilding their life.

After a long season of uncertainty and rebuilding, I am currently in the process of purchasing a home. Closing is April 2nd if all goes well. It will become my home base for my clergy work, Unity and The Kinship Network moving forward.

The past several years have tested me in ways I never expected , divorce, the pandemic, financial hardship, and more moves than I care to count. There were times I truly didn’t know if stability would ever return.

But little by little, life can be rebuilt.

This home will become a place where I can continue my work, deepen community connections, and create space for spiritual conversation, support, and growth.

If you are walking through a season where everything feels stacked against you, please don’t give up on yourself.

Rebuilding from nothing is hard. Sometimes it takes years. Sometimes there are tears along the way. Many tears, but that’s ok, it is part of the healing process.

But the path forward still exists.

Keep your head up. Keep your heart open. Keep walking.

New roots can still grow, even after the hardest storms.
