We are the union that represents all 59 Strafford (NH) School teachers (including guidance counselors and our librarian), nurses, and paraprofessionals. We have a long, proud history dating back to 1982 when we held an election and became the legal representative of our teachers and nurses. In 2005, teachers, nurses, and paraprofessionals voted to incorporate paraprofessionals into our association

. We take great pride in our school, which has won wide recognition for excellence. This is the official page of the Strafford Education Association. In partnership with the School Board and school administration, we share the school's guiding philosophy:

Strafford School Philosophy

The recognition and acceptance of individual differences within an environment of respect and understanding is the foundation of the Strafford School Philosophy. A partnership between school, staff, parents, and the community is encouraged in an ongoing effort to meet the specific needs and provide opportunities for the social, emotional, physical, and academic development of all children. Strafford School strives to create a successful and positive school experience for each child and maintains high expectations for behavior and performance. The school seeks to develop in students strong character, a lifelong appreciation for learning, an acceptance of diversity, and a commitment to community service.

Greetings Strafford Residents,
It's been a long time! The SEA is grateful for the long standing support and generosity that the citizens of Strafford have shown to the students and staff of Strafford School! The SEA has just concluded a challenging bargaining process that involved failed mediation and fact finding. After long hours of discussion and compromise, I am happy to announce that the SEA has reached a tentative agreement for a contract with the Strafford School Board. Some of the challenges we’re facing in the school include administration and staff turnover and many uncertified teachers hired because our pay scale is not competitive to attract certified, experienced teachers.
Please come to the School District meeting in March to support Strafford School and its teaching staff!. We are optimistic that the new pay scale will help reduce the number of uncertified teachers, entice our experienced teachers to stay, and allow us to fully staff the school to provide the education opportunities that our children deserve! We hope we can count on your "Yes" vote on March 11, 2023. The meeting begins at 9:00 am.
Best ,
Audrey Dolan
