Community Purse is a giving circle of approximately 100 women who meet to pool donations of $100 each to give $10,000 to a charity that serves people in the Dane County, Wisconsin area. Three charities from our nominated charity list give presentations at our meetings. The members vote and one charity is selected to receive the collection of checks which have been written directly to the charity.
At our following meeting, the selected charity comes back to explain how the donation benefited our local community.Our members come from different age groups, churches and socio-economic backgrounds, but we all share a desire to be a blessing and to benefit our local communities. Join other women who are making an impact on those living in Dane County. Our meetings are held four times a year on the second Wednesdays of February, May, August and November. Our charities are nominated by our members and serve people who are struggling with domestic violence, poverty, college readiness, addiction, health issues and more.
