Meet The New E Board

Juliee is the first grandchild to be born in the US. She was born and raised in Washington Heights, New York, where she first took an interest in being in front of a camera. She’s a part-time model, majoring in Public Health with a minor in French. She has a strong connection with her culture which is why she chose to be Secretary of DSA. Aside from that she is also a Maker Mentor for the Learning Community Innovation Zone in the NextGen building. If you see her around shout her name and she’ll say hi 👋🏼❤️

Leana was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. She moved to the US about 2 years ago. Santos is currently serving as the treasurer of the Dominican Student Association. Leana is a sophomore majoring in Civil Engineering. Santos is an active member of the UConn community and loves to be involved within it. She serves as the academic chair of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated, she is a member of the society of women in engineering and holds a student worker position at the Student Support Services office. Santos loves to interact and to help others. Leana considers herself a hardworking, dedicated and family oriented person.

Deborah Diaz Polanco is a 2nd year Mechanical Engineering student. Dedicating her life to outreach and community, Deb has found herself working in the Engineering Diversity and Outreach Center, promoting underrepresented minorities in engineering. While volunteering for many SoE events, she decided that culture is a big part of her life, thus joining DSA and being awarded the VP position. She is very involved in her major, but loves exploring new things; ex. She really wants to try that bar tending class that has those fliers everywhere on campus.
Fun Fact: Deb’s favorite season is the Holiday Season!(Christmastime)”

Luis Paulino Jr serves as the President for the Dominican Student Association🇩🇴. He is currently undecided but is looking into a Communications Major with a minor in Latino Studies. He is also the Greek Representative for Lambda Alpha Upsilon Fraternity, Inc.🦅 Along with those he also currently has 3 jobs: the Office Assistant for both Alumni and Shippee Residence Halls and also apart of the Center Crew for the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life🖨📞. As a mentor for the METAS program Luis is dedicated to help out the new coming Freshman start off great at their first year at UConn🐾. If you see him around campus don't be scared to say hi he is super approachable👋🏾. Stay tuned to get to know the rest of this year's amazing EBoard 🙌🏾
