🎉 Big news — we’ve officially changed our name! 🎉

The Kiwanis Club of Doraville-Tucker is now the Kiwanis Club of Tucker–Stone Mountain!

While our name has changed, our commitment to serving children and strengthening our communities remains the same. We’re excited for this next chapter as we continue making a positive impact throughout Tucker, Stone Mountain, and beyond. 💙💛

Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way — we can’t wait to continue growing, serving, and connecting under our new name!

✨ New name. Same mission. Even greater possibilities.

The Doraville-Tucker Kiwanis Club presented a $500 check to Lekotek Tech at their annual Holiday party

Volunteering and watching the kids enjoy the activities (and yes, I loved the snow machine too! ) was the perfect way to kick off the holiday season serving in the community.

We thoroughly enjoyed having Nancy with Wild Nest Bird Rehab as our Guest Speaker tonight!

Wild Nest Bird Rehab is the only 501(c)(3) nonprofit bird rehabilitation facility in Georgia. Following almost 15 years of experience in her home clinic, Founder and Licensed Rehabilitator, Nancy Eilen formally chartered WNBR as a nonprofit in early 2021. Since then, WNBR has treated over 5,600 birds, established a formal training program for those seeking state and federal wildlife rehabilitation licenses, trained over 300 volunteers in bird care and educated the public through school and community outreach. Their volunteer team includes seven federally licensed rehabilitators, animal technicians, veterinarians, student interns, trained caregivers, and operations, facilities and strategic planning experts.

With a growing flock of committed volunteers, Wild Nest endeavors to rehabilitate and release birds in need and to preserve and protect all birds through educating the public about what we can all do to reduce threats to birds and create a safer, healthier world for all living beings.

Her presentation was informative, touching, and inspiring. We look forward to being able to help this amazing nonprofit!

Our Kiwanis club sponsors 3 Key Clubs (Tucker Key Club, Lakeside Key Club, and Parkview Key Club) which is the high school chapter of Kiwanis. Key Club is the largest student-led service program for High School students, and it teaches leadership through serving others.

Every spring, Key Club students have the opportunity to attend a District Convention where members from all across the state gather for service, leadership development, guest speakers, and fun with fellow Key Club members!

Our goal this year, is to sponsor our Key Club officers from each of our 3 Key Clubs so they can attend the District Convention. This would be a first for these students and it would truly be an amazing learning experience for them.

Please consider supporting our fundraiser to help make this happen.... There are over 800 products you can choose from that would make great gifts for teachers, family, and friends! All items ship directly to you and arrive before winter break.

Thank you for your support!

Can we count on you to help Samantha raise money for the fundraiser?

Children Read is a local non-profit that collects and repairs used and new books and then distributes them free of charge to children in pre-k attending title 1 schools, Sheltering Arms, Head Start and other programs for low-income families.

Early exposure to books is so important for developing prerequisite literacy skills, and strong reading skills correlate highly with later school success.

Some members from the club enjoyed cleaning boxes of books that were donated to Children Read!

Who says you can't do service while you are in a meeting?! At our Kiwanis meeting, we put together care baskets for parents with children at the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Hospital for awhile. Hopefully these little care packages will help bring a smile to their face during these tough times. 🩵
