Thank you to every single person who has followed Stockton Streetdogs. Whether you’ve been here since day one or one of our posts randomly popped up in your feed last week, we’re grateful you’re here.

This page has never been about likes or followers. It’s about creating real change, finding real solutions, and yes
 everyone’s favorite word lately: accountability.

Together, we’re proving that Stockton can do better—for our animals, our neighborhoods, and our community as a whole.

And if you’ve lived in Stockton long enough to dodge a pothole, get stuck behind a train, or argue about who has the best tacos in town, then you already know we’re a resilient bunch. 🌼🚂😂

Today is Election Day.

This puppy can’t vote.

The dog lying in the dirt behind him can’t vote.

The thousands of dogs running loose through California’s cities, neighborhoods, and farmlands can’t vote either.

They can’t speak up when they’re abandoned. They can’t ask for help when they’re neglected. They can’t tell anyone how they ended up hungry, injured, forgotten, or left behind.

Every day, rescuers, shelter staff, fosters, and ordinary citizens step in to fill the gaps. But the reality is heartbreaking: shelters are full, rescues are full, foster homes are stretched beyond capacity, and too many animals are still falling through the cracks.

This isn’t about politics. It isn’t about parties. It isn’t about telling you who to support.

It’s about remembering that your vote has power.

Power to demand better accountability. Better solutions. Better leadership. Better outcomes for the communities we live in—and for the animals that depend on us.

Real change doesn’t happen because we hope for it. It happens because people show up and make their voices heard.

So today, while these dogs have no voice in the process, you do.

When you step into that voting booth, think about the things that matter to you. Think about your community. Think about the vulnerable. Think about those who cannot speak for themselves.

And maybe, for just a moment, think about them too. â€ïžđŸŸ

A safe place for the pups is our priority.

Stockton Streetdogs isn’t here to play games or chase likes. We’re here for the Dogs. That means making sure they have the best possible options for everything even if that means a cleaner place to stay. Today we spent our morning organizing a cleanup. To hopefully show the world that those on the streets do in-fact care.

With the help of our local councilmen we were able to remove approximately 6,000 gallons of trash. Which will be removed by public works tomorrow. It takes a city to make change, please be apart of the solution and share this. Many think feeding is enough, it’s not. It’s working with local government that makes a real change in our community. We can feed for the next 30 years but that means nothing if we can’t fix the situation.

Anyone can feed a pup. In many ways, that’s the most fun and rewarding part of helping.

What many people don’t see is the work that happens behind the scenes. Being an advocate for these dogs, both on the streets and at City Hall, takes time, patience, and commitment. Making sure the pups and their owners have a voice within the community isn’t always easy, but it’s an important part of what we do.

Many people want to be involved, but not everyone can dedicate themselves to the work full-time, and that’s okay. That’s where we come in.

With the support of our community, we’re able to create real change. Being a voice for the street dogs has always been at the heart of our mission. We’ve never been about anything other than helping the pups living on our streets.

No gimmicks. No guilt trips. Just results.

We wanted to share a little more about the work that happens in the background, because it’s often the part people don’t see.

The images you’ve seen recently are actually a positive thing. We refuse to let these pups live in unsanitary conditions. We want them to be as safe and comfortable as possible, and when areas are cleaned up, it creates a cleaner and healthier environment for the dogs that call those spaces home.

Every step forward matters, and we’re grateful to everyone who continues to support the mission.

An update on this situation:

Good afternoon everyone. Earlier today, Stockton Streetdogs was made aware of a situation on Hazelton Avenue involving several puppies in a crate. After getting the call, we reached out to Brando Villapudua and Stockton Animal Services so we could quickly figure out what was going on and make sure the pups were safe.

Thankfully, after speaking with the owner, we learned this was not a neglect situation. The owner, Letice, was in the middle of moving the puppies one by one to their new home and had briefly stepped away to grab food nearby.

We understand why people were concerned, and we appreciate the community looking out for these puppies. In the end, everything worked out and the pups safely made it to where they needed to go.

We especially want to thank Stockton Animal Services for stepping in and transporting the puppies to their new home safely. Stockton Streetdogs was also able to provide fresh food for the pups, and the collars and leashes were generously donated by Councilman Brando Villapudua.

Situations like this are a reminder that when the community, local organizations, city officials, and animal services work together, good things can happen for both people and animals.

This is also why we continue pushing for solutions tied to our homeless relocation project, including dedicated kennel spaces for individuals experiencing homelessness with pets. Many people struggling on the streets deeply love and care for their animals, but often lack access to transportation, resources, or pet-friendly services.

We believe people and their pets deserve a pathway toward stability together.

Today is National Rescue Dog Day —

At Stockton Streetdogs, we meet dogs every day who have survived things no animal ever should. Dogs left on chains. Dogs wandering hungry and thirsty in the heat. Puppies born on the streets. Dogs discarded when they became inconvenient and dogs who don’t make it out alive.

Today we want to thank every single person who helps make rescue possible:
