Bill Cook Chapter IWLA The Bill Cook Chapter meets 7:00 PM the first Wednesday of every month in the Conservation Center

The Bill Cook Chapter dates to 1902 when a group of sportsmen concerned with threats to their local environment formed the Portage County Fish & Game Protective Association. Then in 1923, the group joined the Izaak Walton League of America, just one year after the formation of that national conservation organization. Dedicated to both hands-on and education projects, some of our current activities

are scholarships, school book buy, conservation advocacy, stream improvement, youth educational programs, hunter education, highway cleanup, bow shoots, and family conservation day. The chapter grounds and Conservation Center are located east of the Stevens Point Airport off highway 66. The grounds are open to members and consist of about 147 acres of managed forest with the scenic Plover River passing through it. It also includes rifle, pistol, trap, and bow ranges for members' use.

​This is it! Tomorrow, Wednesday, August 26th, is our final 3D shoot of the summer. With hunting season right around the corner, this is your last chance to get some realistic, live-target practice on the range before heading to the woods.
​Come out for one last laid-back, non-league evening. No pressure, no scoring—just a great night outdoors with the local archery community. Let's close out our 30th year with a huge turnout!

​After taking a week off for our general meeting, we are heading right back out to the range this Wednesday, August 12th!
​Hunting season is right around the corner. Come shake off the rust, fine-tune your setup, and get some realistic practice on our 3D targets. As always, it’s casual, non-league, and no scoring—just a great evening outdoors.

This is an important meeting as we'll be voting to elect members to our Board of Directors and looking ahead to another great year of conservation, education, and outdoor opportunities.

​Just a heads-up for everyone following the summer schedule: there will be NO 3D Bow Shoot tomorrow, Wednesday, August 5th.
​Instead, the IKEs will be holding our monthly General Meeting at the club grounds. Come out to connect, hear club updates, and talk hunting season prep with fellow members!
​We will resume our normal weekly 3D shoots next Wednesday, August 12th.
