Friends of PLSJ

The Friends of PLSJ recognize that libraries are a vital part of our communities in Jefferson County.

In coordination with PLSJ, we aim to enhance and support all aspects of the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County. The Friends of the Library serves to fundraise, advocate, coordinate, and expand services and much more for Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County. All membership fees and donations are allocated to Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County through

the request system laid out in our by-laws. Friends of PLSJ stands as its own, separate entity from Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County. All posts and content are monitored and curated by Friends of PLSJ in coordination with Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County.

It will be at the same place and time as the St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Steubenville, Ohio rummage sale. Saturday, August 29 from 9 to noon at 415 Adams St. In downtown Steubenville. CASH ONLY! Bring a bag or a box and take home tons of bargains- most for a dollar or less: 25-cent books, of course, plus clothes and shoes for men and women and children, purses, accessories, jewelry, toys, pet items, home decor, small furniture, wall art, craft and gift wrapping supplies, kitchen items, cookware, small appliances, glassware, dishes, bedding, a hammock, and much more! We're planning a more "grand" unveiling, but please stop by the "soft opening" of the brand new JCHS kitten enclosure at the Schiappa branch, courtesy of Friends of PLSJ and a generous grant. Debut residents Sif, Ran, and Midnight are already enjoying all of the additional space.

COMING SOON! Saturday, August 29th, 2026, 9AM to noon! Two great sales, one convenient location! The Friends of PLSJ will hold a "mini" 25-cent book sale in conjunction with a rummage sale at St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Steubenville, Ohio. Come for one or both! (pay each group separately and directly, CASH ONLY).

Book Sale: Hundreds of fiction, non-fiction, children's, cookbooks, and collectible titles to choose from- all for 25 cents each!

Rummage sale: Clothes, shoes, purses, jewelry, furniture, framed art and other decorative items, household and kitchen goods, small appliances, Elvis collectibles, vintage items, toys, puzzles, games, craft and holiday items, and so much more!
