I had the privilege of receiving a very meaningful gift.

The mother standing beside me donated these beautiful pieces of artwork that once hung in her daughter's room. Her daughter had attended and enjoyed Play-Place, and after her passing, her mother felt that this was the place where the artwork should continue to be appreciated and enjoyed.

Both pieces now greets families as they enter our center—a quiet but powerful reminder of a life that touched others and a mother's enduring love.

There is something incredibly special about being entrusted with a piece of someone's story. We are honored to give these paintings a home where they will be seen, appreciated, and remembered every day.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made Macomb County Impact Day such a success!
We were honored to be one of 36 nonprofit sites welcoming volunteers from across the community. With more than 400 volunteers serving throughout Macomb County, it was inspiring to see so many people come together to make a difference.

At Play-Place, volunteers rolled up their sleeves to help detail our shuttle van and give our ball pit a fresh new look with a coat of paint. These improvements may seem simple, but they help create a better experience for the children and families we serve every day.

We are truly grateful for your time, energy, and generosity. Thank you for investing in our mission and our community. ❤️

SPECIAL NEEDS SUMMER CAMP
Where little learners are safe, supported, and celebrated!

Little Learners LEAP Summer Camp gives children ages 2–6 a safe, nurturing space to play, learn, build confidence, and enjoy the summer.

Each 2-week session includes sensory art, summer fun, treasure hunts, dress-up days, weekly outings, and skill-building activities.

LAST CALL: $400 per session
Monday thru Friday | 9am–3pm

We’re registering families this weekend. Spots are limited — message us today to secure your child’s session.

Michigan families — this is information you do NOT want to overlook.

Michigan’s Family Support Subsidy Program may provide monthly financial assistance to families raising a child with special needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Severe Multiple Impairment (SXI), or severe Cognitive Impairment (CI).

Many families qualify and don’t even realize this program exists. If your child receives special education services through the school system, it may be worth looking into.

Please share this with a family who may need the support. Sometimes access to resources changes everything. 💙

Yesterday was a beautiful reminder of the power of inclusion, connection, and community.

Play-Place Autism & Special Needs Center was honored to sponsor the Sensory Station at the Adaptive Athletic Adventure event hosted by Warren Consolidated Schools’ Special Education Program. From our youngest ECSE participants to high school students, it was incredible seeing so many smiles, friendships, and moments of confidence throughout the day.

A huge thank you to the amazing student helpers from Cousino & Warren Mott High Schools who jumped in with such kindness, patience, and enthusiasm. Your compassion helped make the experience even more meaningful for so many families.

Events like these remind us that when schools, students, and community organizations come together, inclusion truly comes to life. 💫

Huge heartfelt thank you to Alli H. and for stepping in and blessing Play-Place in such a meaningful way. After the recent leak in our playtorium, we were facing a tough situation—and your generous donation of carpet helped us restore a space that means so much to our families and children.

Your partnership has truly been invaluable, and it’s moments like these that remind us how powerful community support can be. Because of you, our kids can continue to play, learn, and grow in a safe and welcoming environment.

Play-Place Autism Center was honored to be named Runner-Up (out of 47 nominees) in the “Hidden Gem” category at the Macomb Business Awards —and while we may be “hidden” to some, moments like this remind us just how deeply rooted we are in a community that sees, supports, and believes in our mission.

What made the evening even more special was connecting with so many amazing friends, colleagues, and county leaders who continue to champion inclusion, accessibility, and opportunities for individuals with special needs. Your encouragement, conversations, and shared passion mean more than you know.

To our families, supporters, and partners—this recognition belongs to you, too. Thank you for trusting us, standing beside us, and helping us create a place where every individual is valued, accepted, and given the chance to thrive.

HAPPY EARTH DAY! 🌎💚
Spent the day at Stellantis – Sterling Stamping planting seeds of inclusion at their Earth Day celebration. Met a LOT of great people and had some truly meaningful conversations about acceptance, community, and creating spaces where individuals of all abilities feel seen, valued, and supported.

We’re incredibly grateful for opportunities like this—to share our mission, connect with new friends, and spread a little more awareness about the importance of inclusive programming right here in our community.

Every seed planted today—whether in the ground or in someone’s heart—has the potential to grow into something powerful. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, showed love, and supported Play-Place. Together, we are growing something beautiful. 🌱💙
