New Report: “Eating Out: A Date with Glyphosate.” GMO Free USA's report details the results of food tests for glyphosate residue, across fifteen popular fast food and casual restaurants in the United States. A sample from Panera Bread, whose primary marketing claim is, “100% of our food is 100% clean,” had the highest level of glyphosate of all 44 restaurant food samples tested. Other restaurants tested include Chili’s Grill and Bar, Domino's Pizza, Dunkin' Donuts, IHOP, Le Pain Quotidien, McDonald’s, Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse, Papa John’s, Pizza Hut, Pret a Manger, Subway, Taco Bell, and Whole Foods Market.

“Our report shows that the presence of the genotoxic chemical, glyphosate, and its toxic metabolite, AMPA, is ubiquitous in foods across the U.S., not just in the processed, packaged foods reported on by other organizations. As our nation faces rising rates of chronic disease, it’s high time the food industry look into solutions to remove this dangerous chemical from its products,” says GMO Free USA.

We lost the right to label GMO foods. But we never lost our determination to expose Monsanto’s corrupt manipulation of government agencies, or the truth about just how harmful Roundup herbicide is to humans and the environment. And it's paying off: http://orgcns.org/2sRfxs0

In a March 3 meeting with a constituent, Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller suggested that his agency could change the label on a hog poison to eliminate important warnings and a requirement to bury the carcasses of poisoned animals, which he said simply wasn't "doable."

USDA Protecting Monsanto's Profits: The USDA has dropped plans to test the U.S. food supply for glyphosate contamination. Glyphosate is the so-called active ingredient Monsanto's toxic weedkiller, Roundup. Now, despite the latest news of collusion between the EPA and Monsanto to deny its genotoxicty and carcinogenicity, the USDA is the latest agency failing to protect the American people. Sad day for Americans.

Breaking News: Government spending bill requires FDA to launch $3 million public propaganda campaign promoting GMOs. The Food and Drug Administration will fund a campaign to promote genetically modified organisms in food under a bipartisan agreement to keep the government funded through the end of September. Environmental groups and House Democrats have derided the provision as a government-sponsored public relations tour for the GMO industry. An attempt by Democrats to redirect the project’s funding to pediatric medical projects within FDA was unanimously voted down by Republicans. “It is not the responsibility of the FDA to mount a government-controlled propaganda campaign to convince the American public that genetically modified foods are safe,” said Rep. Nita M. Lowey (D-NY), who attempted to get the measure struck from the bill last month. “The FDA has to regulate the safety of our food supply and medical devices. They are not, nor should they be, in the pro-industry advertising business,” Lowey said during a congressional hearing.

Looks like this is the first big push by this administration to Make Monsanto Great Again. A show of hands. Who voted for this?

(Note: The original Washington Post headline for the article was, "The government is going to try to convince you to like GMO foods". But it seems the GMO/agrichemical industry didn't like the sound of that and forced WP to change the headline to, "The government is going to counter ‘misinformation’ about GMO foods". PATHETIC)
